The plugin works as described, except for the claim it integrates with bbPress.
You need an add-on for that, and that plugin is broken. Support is limited to "you need to install and activate bbPress before using this plugin" - not very helpful -_-
A number of issues have been posted with that plugin, but it doesn't look like anyone is interested in fixing it.
Sadly, this means that a site already running on PMP and a new website have to switch to another membership solution, as bbPress needs to be protected too.
On the surface it does what I need. But if you feel something is wrong you can't get help unless you pay $100. My "One day memberships" expire two days later. Which means I'm giving away premium memberships and collecting 60% less income on my daily memberships. Good luck getting help with that. Should I pay $100 to see if I can get it fixed? If I can't, I'm out $100.
There is no upgrade a plan feature. Members can't stack memberships. Example: a membership expires June 30, but on June 26 a member buys an extra month. He forwards me an email from that states his membership expires on July 29. (He's been a calendar month member) but if a membership expires on the 30th, shouldn't the next "one month" membership start the next day?
If I pay $100 I can ask why.
The more you try to use this the more you are going to fight with it. The support forums are okay and the docs are fine for simple usage. All in all, I dont feel its commercial ready with paid users.
I appreciate the Devs effort to create a "free" Membership plugin. However.., plugin seems basic and perhaps may work for some but... as mentioned by other users there's a Major Flaw in the basic functionality.
For NON or Logged-Out members when you click on any Protected Category link/menu item in the front end, instead of getting a message that the content is for Members Only and direct you to sign up or other page, you get an error like page stating-
Content not found
The content you are looking for could not be found.
If most of your Categories are member only your potential customer would never be able to see that the content on your site is restricted to members only (or see that there's any content- for that matter) and will most likely be gone forever in less than 3 seconds. For you(the service provider) it is proven that you're better-off the potential customer never land on your page THAN thinking your site is empty or faulty.
I really doubt that someone will ever see the messages you setup in advanced settings if you protect your content by category...
The magnitude of the bug is why I deduct 3 stars right away. It is simply unacceptable.
Just my 2c.
