I plan to offer free courses, with no sign up - almost impossible to find plugins. I have been searching and trying education course plugins for weeks. I have even installed and wrestled with an ed software generated sub-site. I realized all I need is a post series plugin (and quiz plugin shortcodes). That was disappointing too. Until I found this one.
This one is perfect for courses. It has 2 widgets, TOC, post nav, series index box on each post, and id posts as part of a series. These are all I need. And I need all of them.
Easy to assign posts to a series, and to order them.
CSS is crazy simple to customize. I did so for the first time in my 2 yr. WP experience. And CSS is totally customizable in settings. Awesome.
The plugin does not add awkward looking elements. They integrate well, look great and are logically placed.
Thank you for a maintained, highly useful, plugin. I have a MultiSite sub-site dedicated to its use.
I have used Organize Series for quite a while now and it's only improved with age. It's flexible, powerful, well-documented, and supported. I haven't seen a better plug-in for writing serial fiction.
I have written some workshops where the order of the posts is important and where it's good to know which posts belong together.
"organize series" solves this task very good.
Series can be created and each article can be assigned to one series including the position of the post in this serie.
Unfortunately does this plugin do not work with "bulk edit". So if you already have a lot of posts belonging to one series you will have to adapt the articles one by one. But this is okay beacuse you will have to define the position of the article within the series.
Thanks for this very helpful plugin!!!
Este é um excelente plugin, perfeito para organizar seus posts em séries. Com a atualização para o WordPress 3.7, ele parou de funcionar, mas o update para a versão atual deixou tudo funcionando novamente. Eu o traduzi para pt_BR via GlotPress.
I really like this plugin, and use it to organize the series on my website. However, I have to say, you should know ahead of time that it is resource-intensive. Currently, it's responsible for 33% of the load time for my website... and is only one plugin out of 35--and this is the case even when loading pages where there's not post that's part of a series!
I'm not sure why this is the case, and it doesn't make the plugin less useful, but it is something you will want to know about going in.
Since I first tried this plugin I fell in love with it. It's simple, it's pretty, and it works great for organizing one or more series of posts. It's perfect for a serial writing site (as well as anything else that might need serializing!).
Perfect for organizing posts on WordPress.
Having the ability to organize series of posts makes WordPress usable as a real content management system. I have a site (ed-informatics.org) that has a series of sequential tutorials, and I use Organize Series to put them in their places and provide easy access for visitors.
