Hey there, nice Work !
I bought Optimus HQ 3 months ago, i dont know where to look for my activation key...
I have become a huge fan of WebP as of late. It is a very underutilized feature that more website owners should be using. I have decreased all of my image sizes by over 20% with WebP, and that is on top of what I was already getting with the lossless compression. Love knowing my images are as small as possible to ensure fast load times.
Easy to install and use. Ideal as a scalable tool.
there is no option for lossy compression, so the filesizes really hardly become smaller.
Other plugins offer a choice between lossy and lossless. EWWW for example even offers lossless, as well as 2 different ways of lossy compressing images (jpegmini and tinyjpg) and the results are very good (jpegmini resulting in bigger files but high quality, tinyjpg resulting in smaller sizes and slightly lower quality) with filesizes much smaller than Optimus.
My point is: you should also add a lossy option, then the plugin will be much more complete and will deserve 5 stars.
UPDATE: since you added Webp - now 5 stars!
There are very few plugins that just simple work, without any issues at all. This is one of them. I knew I needed to do something to optimize the images on my site, but I kept putting the task off because I thought it would be too time-intensive. Little did I know, Optimius would take care of everything in a few simple clicks. I installed the plugin, and let Optimus scan and compress my images, without losing ANY of the image quality. It worked like a charm! I highly recommend you invest in this simple plugin. Your site visitors (and search engines) will appreciate it.
...look out for Optimus. I´ve installed the premium-version "Optimus HQ" (good deal for 29 EUR / year), with the free version you´re a little bit limited. If you don´t want to pay anything, that´s not the plugin of your choice.
It also generates webp-images and let (since today...) also re-generate webp-images for already optimized pictures. And squeezes all the rubbish out of your images.
I'm a big fan of yearly subs and don't like paying monthly which a lot of the other compression services make you do. Love the fact that there is no limit on the # of images you can compress. Also having the ability to disable compression on upload is nice and bulk compress them afterwards. I write a lot and don't like anything slowing me down. Optimus is the best compression plugin I have used to date.
I tested a file which was compressed to 98.4 kB by the GIMP. I ran it through the Optimus plugin and it shrank to 82.5 kB with no visible loss in quality. I tried the same file with TinyPNG.com and obtained a 71.8 kB file, but it had a noticeable drop in quality.
I'm now trying to become a customer by buying one of the paid services, but it keeps serving an error :/ The free product does work well though, so hopefully the paid one will be just as good ... once I manage to actually pay for it.
I have always been an image optimizer guru! I knew it really mattered if your images were smashed or not for your website speed. I have tried different plugins, and even some that would use my own server resources to optimize the images. The problem with that is, it cause lag for your visitors when you make a new post, upload new media, or do a bulk optimize on all your images.
Thanks to Optimus.io; I now don't have to use my server resources to optimize my images, which is really, really good! I highly suggest you give them one try, and you won't want to even bother looking for a different plugin to optimize that images on your blog :) Trust me
Optimiert völlig selbstständig hoch geladene Bilder und reduziert viele Datenbytes! Die Komprimierung ist dabei so ausgewogen, dass keine Artefakte oder andere unschöne Effekte zu sehen sind! Google wird es danken!
