When installing i got an error message. I thought the plugin wasnt working the way it should. After checking the error log i realized there was a server limit.
Thanks for the gallery
Not only did Photocrati make this into an amazing product, but they provided world-class support when I had a question, the answer was good and very quick ...

My client updated a site without my consent so I spent my whole weekend fixing because the site was suddenly showing blank screen. When I disabled this plugin, voila! the site was live again. This used to be a good gallery plugin.
Does everything you need it to do, fairly easy to use. Only complaint is how difficult it is to move a gallery from one website to another, which isn't an everyday problem but is really the only issue we have run into.
This is a good gallery plug-in. In one occasion after a WP update, I had to refresh the browser cache so that the pictures would show in the lightbox instead of a blank screen, but apart from this problem, it works well.
I had an important feature suggestion back in March, but it hasn't been included yet: I asked for a third option for the "Display captions » setting: Yes / No / Yes for desktop clients only. While displaying captions by default on desktop clients makes sense because of the large screen estate, they take up too much space on smartphone, hiding up to half the image behind. In the meanwhile, I have to leave the option off, with the risk that many desktop users do not know these captions exist (through the "i" icon).
Easy to use!
I got this plugin to get more control over my galleries and improve my social sharing. It was a real headache at first and I had to do some serious headscratching to get things working. I contacted support and by that time I was truly at my end - I am not a pro developer. Just a photographer muddling through - they were supportive. They didn't give up on me. I achieved what I wanted to achieve in the end. Compatibility with other plugins are a bit tricky. There are still some tweaks I would like to make, but waiting for further updates. The moral of the story is that I think this is one of the best plugins for images, it really gives you a lot of scope. Is it a little complex as a result? yes. Is it a walk in the park - no. But is it worth it - yes. My images look really great. Check out my work in progress at
Moral of the story - these guys care about their plugin and the support is there.
I was using an ancient version of NextGen on Clunkbucket. There were some legacy issues to deal with after an update, and the team really helped out in solving the problem quickly so the site could move forward. The old theme was causing problems. After so much time the learning curve in the new NextGen is a little steep, but the power and flexibility built into NextGen is impressive.
I use this tool as project portfolio for my production company. I spent days trying about 30 different plug-ins and none came close to doing what I wanted. NextGen Gallery fit the bill, and although there are (like with all software) a few bugs here and there, they seem to be actively developing and improving this plug in. The support is great, usually a response within 25 hours.
If your site crashes, just do what i did to get it working again.
Remove the nextgen plugin folder via ftp and your site will reload.
Then deactivate all plugins except essential ones.
Reinstall nextgen and it will work fine!
If it doesn't there's a conflict with one of your still activated plugins.
If it installs fine, reactivate plugins one by one till you find the culprit.
