The most popular WordPress gallery plugin and one of the most popular plugins of all time with over 12 million downloads.
Works Fine, even after multiple WP & Plugin Updates
I have used this and even bought the pro version for my clients. It has worked well for us - better than previously. Only fair I revise since my experience has differed than originally.

Used to work but since latest version short codes stopped working properly - i see ALOT of people with this issue and error but noone seems to be doing anything about it... :(
I finally gave up and used a better written program for my galleries.
Works fine, good job, thank you
The pagination doesn't work when the wordpress Permalink Settings is set to "Post Name"
Looks nice, and might be what I'm looking for, I just wish it could import existing galleries from my server, so I don't have to re-upload them again.
Updated review: After reporting the bug to the staff, they promptly sent me back the script to repair the issue, so my rating has changed.
Original review: Once moved from the localhost to production site, the lightbox stopped working. This seem to be a common error according to support forum. When a plugin has common error in it's core functionality, I can't rate it more than 1 star.
This plugin was perfect for what I wanted but their certainly is always room for improvement. Like when you click through the thumbnails it will only click through to the last thumbnail of the first page, not on the very last image you've uploaded. However, still very easy to use.
I really like how it naturally keeps the pictures separated by gallery - when you have thousands of pictures, it's just not practical to drop them all in a flat list media area. The slideshows are so easy to make: go to the tool's page, type a name for a gallery, do a batch upload, then click the toolbar button when editing a page or a post.
If I end up needing more capability, it looks like I can subscribe to the pro version for $39/yr for an unlimited number of my websites. But the free version isn't crippleware, so I'm happy that I'm not getting sucked into a black hole.
The quality so far is pretty good, it's working with the theme named "Responsive" just fine. The one bug I have found is during batch uploads of a few dozen 3 MB originals (like 20-30 photos) -- the uploader failed to complete. I don't want 3 MB photos for these slideshows anyway (I'd use a portfolio plug-in for those anyway), so I shrank them ahead of time and that worked around the problem.
Best Image gallery.. but, could use some tweaking
If only they'd integrate the WordPress built-in media library. It's so annoying having to upload multiple photos to WordPress and then to NextGen also. Otherwise it's awesome.
