After the last update, the galleries disappeared.
Since this company was bought, this software has given me nothing but headaches. Every time they release a major version, something breaks. They are slow to post bug fixes and frequently deny that their plugin is broken until you jump though hoops to prove otherwise. They are more interested in bloating the gallery software with ecommerce options than supporting the user base.
Look for something else.
It works fine, then all of a sudden stops working. Then I have to spend hours trying to fix it again. Seems to have regular conflicts with other plugins.
The WordPress Visual editor suddenly stopped working! The culprit is NextGen Gallery.
esta fallado desde marzo del 2016.
60 something bucks! dang! I guess Hondas aren't good enough, they want Ferraris...
Pro version does not feel complete.
The settings for the albums are hidden in with the settings of the galleries. It will take you a few minutes to figure that out. Once you get to the settings, you will learn that the album settings have nothing to do with setting view of the album, it relates to the galleries attached to it, wtf! I have no idea where to change the view for the albums.
"Manage albums" sections should be reworded to create albums category, you can't do anything there, its a fancy category page
It feels incomplete. How?
Example when you add a gallery in a page or post IN VIEW OPTION.
- The first section is "Select a display type", ill select "NextGen mosaic Pro"
_ Second option, "What would you like to display", select an album, but then your display type changes, without telling you, wtf?
Why are we still running shortcakes? Flashback to 1997? Why hasn't this integrated to VC?
Yup... Don't bother with the pro peeps, not yet. I wish I could get my money back.
I downloaded and installed this plug-in and it disabled my WordPress platform. Thankfully I was able to recover the site.
I tried Nextgen on different Sites. On every Site was a other bug...
There are simply too many hoops to jump through to put up a simple gallery (different settings pages have redundant information - such as thumbnail size - do I have to change that everywhere??).
I ended up with white borders on my thumbnails, and my client doesn't want that to display his art work (how to get rid of borders?). Also the forward/back buttons on the full-size pop-up images are on the image itself, which is invasive on art work.
I spent way too much time finding how to have a full-image thumbnail, rather than a cropped portion of the image (again, for art work, my client wants the thumbnail to be a miniature of the whole work). For my use, the steps to create and post a gallery need to be in logical order (create gallery, select images, select options - including thumbnail style, borders- yes or no, etc.) and not appear on more than one settings page. Then to post the gallery - what is with that complicated multi-tabbed pop-up???
