Hide custom menu items based on user roles
This plugin is very useful for hiding menu options for logged-in/logged-out users and by user role (vendor functions in my case) and it is very simple to configure.
I will note that I got a pop-up saying there "might" be a conflict with my KLEO theme's menu system, but I found no conflicts after testing and simply hid the message!
I'm using WP 4.1 with Nginx+HHVM and no issues detected. :)
This is so effective and intuitive. As WordPress is employed more as a complex CMS, with access to varying roles in an organization, this will be used a lot. I agree with another commenter that this should go in the core.
Works great. Thank you!
a previous review stole the title i wanted to use; "Perfect" !!!
i love simple.
simple does not necessarily mean ineffective, or lacking features.
integrated perfectly even with a theme i am currently using that already had all sorts of icons, mega menus etc built into WP menu.
i want to have "Join" instead of "Register" for a BuddyPress site.
Problem was the theme also has dynamic menus for registration but only for BuddyPress default "register" page.
Using Gravity Forms registration for a different page name and slug (Join),
the themes dynamic menu redirecting only to "register" page became useless.
This plugin solved this with literally one click in the menu.
I just create my own "link" menu to the "Join" page and it disappears when the user is logged in leaving a more organised and sensible menu.
Thanks helgatheviking !!!
As simple as that: Kathy is awesome! Thanks Kathy!
Piece of cake to administer different menu items for users with different roles!! This function should somehow be intergrated in the wordpress core!!
Many thanks to the author!!
I have the BuddyDrive plugin installed that allows me to copy a link of my documents folder and I wanted this linked in my nav bar. Problem is, whenever I logged out these links would appear outside of my submenu and as their own top level menu item, allowing these links to be seen by readers. This plugin was a great quick fix to keep these hidden in the submenu where they belong and out of general view. I would say this plugin is especially useful if you have BuddyPress installed and have menu items that appear when you want them viewable only by the membership.
Very simple to use and the support is great. Thank you for this awesome plugin!
This plugin does exactly what I need it for and it is easy to setup.
