MySQLi database layer

MySQL_* functions are deprecated and this plugin creates a layer to use MySQLi instead. So you don't get notices when using PHP 5.5

Helpful when running dated WordPress sites
By , for WP 3.7.1

I was restoring an old WordPress site (v3.7.1) that I haven't touched in over 3 years that on my WAMP server. Even though this plugin hasn't been updated for just as long, it was helpful in fixing the depreciation notices that I was getting for mysqli, thank you.

This is awesome

Problem with mysql 5.6
By , for WP 3.8.3

The latest version of mysql (5.6) instals mysqlnd, the native driver, which includes mysqli. Quote from php.net: "On Windows, for PHP versions 5.3 and newer, the mysqli extension is enabled and uses the MySQL Native Driver by default. This means you don't need to worry about configuring access to libmysql.dll."

Installing this plug in by the optional route of putting db.php into wp-content does not obviate the error messages created by wordpress using old database instructions e.g. mysql_connect().

I would be grateful for any suggestions for a work-around. Thanks for your help

System: MySQL 5.6.19 using mysqlnd 5.0.11, php 5.5.13, OS Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit, apache 2.4.9 (WIN64)

Ermergurd! Why the hack does WP use mysqli by default! Cheers for this plugin!

Thanks for the patch! It's surprising that the core installation of WordPress hasn't addressed this issue yet.

Thanks for doing this, core needs to incorporate it.

Works flawlessly, as expected.

This seems like something which should not be needed though, so hopefully WordPress core is able to adapt to this sooner rather than later.

Good, good.

Thanks a lot. I met the problem after update to Ubunto 13.10 with PHP 5.5.3. Your plugin resolved it. It works excellent in WP 3.7.1.

Totally works!
