I went on WordPress.com to look around at the changes, and I loved its different interface. When I found out I can download this UI for myself, I couldn't have been more delighted.
Works really well. It's clean, easier and more polished than the original one.
The flat icons are just a bit too flat. They look like something someone has drawn up in Microsoft Paint.
I think you've taken 'flat design' a little too literally.
There is too much vertical space on the menu, it makes it look really chunky, not spacious or comfortable.
The contrast between the menu/admin bar and the main content area is just too great. Staring at that screen for too long will be impossible. The menu is far too black and the content area is far too grey and dull. We've got grey at the moment, we need something fresh. Have you seen the TryGhost colour palette? Crisp and fresh, not dark and bulky.
The switch to Open Sans is a good idea, but something about MP6 makes the font look really chunky, not fine and clear.
I like the responsive design, but again why does everything get so big? Particularly the admin bar; I'm not blind and if you are then making it bigger certainly won't help.
Everything seems just a bit too square/sharp. It needs to be soft(er) and easy on the eyes. It can still remain flat.
Not exactly very professional, in my opinion. Not something I'd like to show a client. Yet.
Some bugs, but it is good!
I have tested this on a few sites/devices and in general i think it is a very good concept - looks great, touchscreen enabled & big plus points that we can easily log out on mobile devices!
My only reservations is that custom plugins/themes display their settings in a fixed width (non fluid) - which in effect makes the mobile view fairly redundant, although this may have to be addressed by the theme/plugin makers if this plugin was to become an official reality.
Keep up the good work - definitely heading in the right direction!
nice plugin, thx :)
Love this! I live in my WP admin section so the muted colors don't hurt my eyes as much as the standard admin does. Love the static admin sidebar, it feels settled. Best admin plugin yet.
I like it. Thank you for internally working on the monotone admin thing.
One little thing, current version is not putting date/time code on top of the Jetpack Site Stats page. Only a lonely comma survives up there in the subarctic region.
I love the tweaked UI design! Cool! Even with support for mobile! Beats the Twenty Twelve theme!
Even though it isn´t finished, I am loving it already. A million times better, and I love Open Sans!
