since last update of Chrome for Android the player doesn't work anymore. Hopefully Simon can fix asap.
I tried 5 other plugins before finding this one!
I was simply looking to auto create a playlist of MP3 files from a folder uploaded to the server.
One line of shortcode and it works great!
If you were looking for a way to smoothly integrate jplayer and its skins, don't lose your time here.
was a little hard to setup because i need multiple playlists and im a noob in wordpress.
if it helps:
1. in the file manager, i created a new folder "audio" in "wp-content".
2. in 'audio' added more folders (playlist names)
3. into each folder uploaded the mp3 files relevant to the playlist.
in the post page added the shortcode (can be found in plugin website):
[ mp3-jplayer tracks="FEED:/wp-content/audio/playlist-name" dload="y"]
(without the spacing)
and works perfect!
one last tip - make sure that in settings > media library> order playlist by: is TITLE (and not 'filename')
Negative points :
This plugin doesn’t read mp3 tags
There is no admin panel, you have to upload thes file via ftp
shortcode is complex
Design is awful
highly customizable and nice features
The basic function of this plugin works just fine; the music player *works*, and it works on every platform I've tested it on. The interface is a little clunky and old, but as long as it's me and not one of my clients trying to set it up and use it, it's fine. It would be good if it were better integrated with the WP media handler.
I made my own button image files a few years ago and continue to use them, because the buttons that come with the player are unacceptably rough. Why has no one ever fixed this simple thing?
Update 1 Mar 2015
Yes, I have been using this plugin for something like five years now. There's really not anything out there that replaces it.
The developer recently did a big overhaul of the plugin; I haven't had time to check out the integration with the media library, but it appears to have been improved. And the styling interface is pretty nice. Those ugly old buttons are gone. I have bumped my rating up to five stars. I would hate to run a musician or venue's website without this one.
The list of old, broken WordPress plugins continues...
You are the great Boss! Worked like a charm..
