Not really usefull in the "free" version
I just tried to use this plugin, but it seems it will only work with user roles. You cannot select any products, categories, or anything else. This is useless.
Sadly, 90% of this so called "free" plugin is just advertising for the paid version.
The functionality included with the free version is virtually useless.
Having struggled to find a minimum purchase requirement plugin that fit a very specific need, I stumbled across this plugin.
Skeptical at first, I was able to see literally everything the plugin had options for on Vartech's main website. They had screenshots of EVERY option with well written and VERY detailed explanations for each option.
Still not quite convinced, I emailed their support asking if their plugin could do what I want with my specific requirement.
To my surprise, I was emailed back within almost half an hour with an answer to my question.
Convinced, I bought the plugin and began working with it and stumbled across a bug in one of the options that caused a fatal error. To my dismay, this was the option I so desperately needed.
Emailing the support once again, I was emailed back almost immediately. This time the support gave me his skype address so that we could chat there.
After explaining my problem the support immediately began working on a solution for the bug in the code and had it finished within 10 minutes and emailing me a fixed version.
I was absolutely stunned by the speed and quality of Varktech's customer support and service. Yes the plugin is kind of expensive but they take care of you.
Plugin may be more expensive than what most are used to but Varktech takes care of their customers with speed and quality. A rare trait to find in today's day and age.
I wanted to limit puchases for variable products accross a category - I tried MANY different plugins including the WooCommerce Min/Max (paid) plugin. While I could create a min/max purchase for a variable product - I couldn't limit it accross products in the same category.
The free version is great if you only have ONE category that needs a min/max. I got the PRO version for multiple, different Min/Max settings and it works like a charm.
Needed something that would limit our WooCommerce customers to just 1 item in their cart, but also prevent them from coming back and putting something in their cart again in the future. We have everything set to super paranoid status and, after lots and lots of testing, I believe we finally have it locked down tight.
Incidentally, my boss did some testing on the program and found a small issue, a way someone might be able to cheat if they tried hard enough. I contacted customer service and within minutes I got a response. Mark asked questions about the issue and within about an hour total all said and done he had a Beta version for us to test and try out. So far, so good - the small issue was fixed and we are feeling confident.
I gave 5-stars for delivering what was promised (we tried the FREE and then purchased the PRO version), for giving us value for our investment ($70 seemed like a lot, but now I see it's a real bargain for the service and the quality of the work) - and for excellent, top notch customer service. I wish all extensions/plugins were managed this well!
This is just a funnel to get people to buy the full version. Bah.
I needed a plugin that would allow me to divide up shipping methods between several categories of products that also have 2 different minimum purchase requirements. One set of products ship via Fed Ex and the others ship via USPS, both from different locations. Both types of products require different minimums to complete a purchase as well.
I have found that customers don't 'read', thus I until I found this plug-in I couldn't sell both types of products in 1 website. When I tried, it created too many problems resulting in the need to cancel more orders than I was able to accept.
I was about to give up completely, until I finally came across this plugin. I had a few initial problems setting it up, but the tech support is off the charts awesome!!
Now when customers don't meet the minimums, there is a very good message in the cart explaining why. It also computes how much more they need to purchase to meet the requirement. Even better, the plugin totals the shipping costs into one (1) single total if bot types of products are in the cart.
I do need to mention that I found that using a 'table-rate shipping method' works out best if you have similar needs to what I needed to accomplish. I'm using WooCommerce Table Rate Shipping Pro of which I found the support to be good for that as well.
I agree with EasyStore above. I recently created a WooCommerce site, set up lots of products and having configured a previous version of Min and Max Purchase for WooCommerce, I was able to set a min order qty for a single product category (I just need a minimum order rule for about 8 products).
Having temporarily deactivated the plugin for troubleshooting an unrelated issue, it self-updated upon re-activation. Now I have lost the above functionality! Not a very happy man and can't justify the price for Pro version to get this functionality back.
Found an alternative that seems to have done the trick: (for those interested)
WooCommerce Advanced Product Quantities
I had an issue with a custom function I had forgotten about. The support called me on Skype a few hours after I created the ticket and we found the problem in no time. It is now working like a charm !
