This review is for the free version. vCita is probably a pretty nice plugin if you pay for the business plan at $40/mo http://www.vcita.com/pricing. When I look at the upgrades through the plugin I'm told I must CHOOSE BETWEEN the services listed under "essentials" package for the $25 price.
It looks really nice, and seems like it is functioning well on my practice site, however with all the restrictions on setting up my services I haven't been able to make vCita work for even one of the three services I tried to set up. (I needed four but was restricted to 3). The only option I was given to use for online video conferencing was skype, which is not my preferred method, but I thought I could deal.
The clincher came when I tried to set up the times I was available for certain services. As far as I can tell the free version doesn't allow me to even set my available hours past the default. Let alone set what hours I was available for certain services.
So, my thoughts are that if you have a VERY VERY simple set up and you just want to collect leads by hand, the free version MIGHT work for you, but it really seems like it's just a downloadable advertising demo that shows you all the stuff you can do with the paid version.
I really didn't have time to waste on TRYING to set up free software that is clearly only designed to be useful as a paid product. The only reason I'm giving this two stars and not one is because it looks like it could be a good product if you pay for it - could be because I can't even demo those features on my free version.
The description of this plugin is very ambiguous. You can read the site and the description and you won't really understand what features are free and whats paid for until you download the plugin, sign up for an account, add it to your website..etc..
After thinking this was the best free scheduling app, I was proved wrong when I had to pay to set my business hours. Sure, you can have customers schedule resources, but only at times that don't apply to your business.
Vcita needs to have a very CLEAR description as to what is free vs. paid for, otherwise you'll end up wasting valuable time with this plugin.
This seems like a great plug-in, but to be useful it is $10/month.
If you actually want a free calendar, you can't use this. You must subscribe to their service. The "free" version doesn't sync with your calendar which means users won't be able to pick free or busy times.
I'm sure this is a great service, but I don't want a service. I just want a calendar and I thought their description was not extremely honest as it took an install and 10 minutes to find out that I would need to pay $10-15/month to use their calendar widget.
