Good plug-in; one flaw
By , for WP 3.9.3

This plug-in does exactly what we need it to do: shows the size of the file(s) used for each media item.

There are two problems, one small, one big:

  1. You may need to increase the memory of your WP installation if you have a lot of media.
  2. I don't think we're alone in importing and exporting our sites: getting date from the live site to use in development and local versions of the site. This often leads to media posts in the database that don't relate to an actual file on the this, broken media items. If you have any of those, if the plug-in can't find the actual file to measure, it breaks, badly. You need a try/catch around the code where it measures the file(s). This would make it perfect.

Thanks!

Did Exactly What I Needed

I had looked at Media Library Assistant, but I didn't need all that garbage. It's perfect for just being able to see the file sizes and sort by them.

Sort by file size
By , for WP 4.0

Fantastic, exactly what I needed. I love being able to sort the files by file size, much needed addon! Works in 4.0

Works nicely

Works nicely also with WP 4.0. I don’t see any of the issues mentioned in some reviews here.

Works great for me!
By , for WP 3.9.1

Being using this plugin for a while now, it does and always has worked great - never had any of the problems other reviewers mention. Thanks for this!

image files are not being sorted by size

Simple and easy to use
By , for WP 3.6.1

Exactly what I want, works perfectly.

Throwing all sorts of errors in the media library.
By , for WP 3.5.1

Exactly what I want, except for the error messages. Generated over 5000 extra characters (one of the error messages, paraphrased).

Simple & Easy to use
By , for WP 3.4.2

It is simple and easy to us and it works (silently). From this point of view it should get 5 stars. But I use it to add the file size for down-loadable files. Therefore I would need some shortcode to include the file size in the post. Therefore just 3 stars.
