The most advanced responsive HTML5 WordPress slider plugin with touch swipe navigation that works smoothly on devices too.
Master Slider has the potential to be the best slider on the market by a long shot. It is almost brillant but has some huge flaws.
1. There are no settings presets. This makes it almost unusable. The authors told me "duplicate an exisiting slideshow." Sorry that's not even close to being the same thing. Without user presets it's unusable if you have a lot of slideshows that share settings. Change any one of the myriad settings and you're spending 30 minutes updating them all, something that should take 5 seconds.
2. The whole product is buggy. This is surprising as it's very ambitious, but a lot of things don't work properly when you start combining functions. Reign it in a bit and make sure everyhting works.
3. Captions are extremely versatile but they're a pain. Give us one panel to quickly edit captions across the board.
Overall it's almost a materpiece. It needs user presets for settings to be usable though.
This is a plugin worthy of the adjective "excellent." And I'm talking about the free version! It is rich with features and settings and their YouTube instructional videos are also excellent. If you want a really good free slider, check it out.
I have just started to looking Master Slider...
I have tried many 'sliders' few seem to work a few really look good but with Master Slider it Masters these two simple but key needs for anyone. It just works and looks good. Comes with option to add demo slider to test.
This is an amazing plugin. I evaluated many and this slider has it all. don't waste time on others ....this is the one. Will buy the pro version soon. amazing.
Was easy to setup once I figured out the interface, everything looks gorgeous and loads quickly. It also scales better on slower devices, waiting for the whole image to load rather then showing half loaded images.
I used to like this slider, although i do echo some of the problems mentioned by other users - for instance calling a slide picture a 'background' makes no sense and means i spent ages scratching my head trying to figure out how to actually load pictures into the slider - so a change of terminology would make sense. A background is a background, not a picture. But my main problem with this is that twice now, updates have been issued, which i have trustingly clicked on only to see it wreck the look of my whole site. last time this happened (7th January 2015) they spent a day sorting it out and issued one update that still didn't work and then another one a few minutes later that did. Today (18th Feb 2015), I have again updated and now ALL the sliders have disappeared from all of my pages. Frankly, this sucks, and points to updates not being tested properly before release, causing stress for thousands of people who probably have better stuff to do. I'm using WP 4.1, updated regularly, and 2012 theme - nothing fancy. But my site looks a whole lot less fancy without the sliders that i carefully added to it. What gives?
By the same people who built CuteSlider, MasterSlider (free) does what you need in.
I will note some initial issues with the slider not even displaying, but after some community feedback, the issues seem to have been fixed and updated by the author. I dropped it down one star due to the amount of time it took for a response from the author, but the issue was indeed fixed with his update.
Backend interface is rather intuitive and works similarly to CuteSlider, so if you are "side-grading" from CuteSlider, this is indeed the plugin to get. For those first-timers, it will take a bit of getting used to the interface.
Adding the MasterSlider to posts or pages is also easy.
-- set up the slider via the settings then use the shortcode
-- set up a slider via the post-toolbar then shortcode will auto-enter
Can use multiple MasterSliders on a single page/post.
We've not tried the video-auto-play so I cannot rate on that.
Overall, a decent plugin to replace CuteSlider. I will use this again on other sites.
