Limits the number of login attempts from a given IP range within a certain time period.
Login Lockdown is very effective at shutting down the most common type of attack on WordPress sites: a brute force attack using dictionary lists.
This free plugin effectively limits the number of attempts any one IP address can try to log in to your site. It will shut down automated attacks on your site because they rely on thousands of attempts to guess your password. It won't protect you from someone who already knows your password (think ex-employees or purchased password lists), but there are other ways to protect against those issues.
Must have for any WordPress site light weight on the server. I'm getting hit some 40 times a night and I sleep better knowing that I'm protected.
I have been using this little plugin for many months now, and it has kept all my sites safe. However, I installed WordFence which already has this feature included, so I guess I won't need it anymore.
Thanks to the author still.
hey nice plugin, u need to change the following line to work with 4.1:
$activatestr = str_replace(WP_PLUGIN_DIR . "/", "activate_", __FILE__); add_action($activatestr, 'loginLockdown_install');
$activatestr = str_replace(WP_PLUGIN_DIR . "/", "activate_", __FILE__); register_activation_hook( $activatestr, 'loginLockdown_install' );
This is a must install plugin on every site you build. Adds a simple easy to configure layer of security in preventing brute force attack of the login page.
Excellent plugin, use it and save yourself a hacking headache
This plugin saved my bacon from hackers. My site like many other WordPress sites get attacked from time to time, and this has stopped all of them. This is a must have for being built into WordPress in the future.
Привет! Установила на свой сайт детский фотограф. Присоединяюсь к счастливым обладателем отличного плагина. Рекомендую
Easy to configure, nothing difficult, just what you need, I liked it.
Installed it creates two DB tables, which makes it easy on server resources.
Without any problems.
