Jetpack is now a standard plugin for all my personal and client sites. It adds so much functionality that I used to have to find via multiple plugins. The developers are continually working to make it more stable and reliable, and that's a really good thing.
If you don't want to have to connect Jetpack to WordPress.com, you can still take advantage of many of the modules by running Jetpack in Development Mode.
I manage roughly 30 websites, and I use Jetpack on every site. It's the first plugin I install after my theme. There are so many useful features to this plugin, it's hard to imagine not wanting to use it. And for free? Amazing. It's absolutely seamless on every site I manage. I have never had a website problem due to Jetpack. Of course, I keep my platform and plugins updated. Thank you Jetpack developers!
This plugin works great. I have been using Jetpack since my website went live more than 3 years ago.
I use Jetpack on both my personal websites as well as websites I help manage for assorted consulting clients (together that is 6+ websites). In short, it is awesome! This is less like a plugin and more like extended WP features since they all tie back to WordPress.com. Every WP site needs Jetpack as far as I'm concerned. If for no other reason then the security features (SSO and Protect, mainly) install this. Then there are the management and monitoring tools that link your site to the WordPress.com Dashboard for easy and seamless site management across all your WP sites from one central place. The assorted social features are nice, as are the statistical features. It is useless for me to list them all there are so many useful features! Just install this, authorize with your (free) WordPress.com account, and experience them all for yourself.
Even if now my backend is faster than photo, it was great on my shared server ;)
I don't think there's a single site I run that isn't enhanced by Jetpack in one way or another, be it stats, the lovely improved gallery functionality, or automatically pushing to social networks, it just has everything I need, and more! (And for the things I don't need, there's always a disable button)
This works great and simplifies our WP install.
The features that was given by jetpack was awesome and its easy to configure also.
