iThemes does an acceptable job, basic features are working, more or less.
Some problems include:
misplaced coma in the shipping cost in the screen after the client confirms and emails notifications. This does not affect totals but is annoying.
Localization a problem. Translation option are limited. Must re-upload my translation files every time I update the plgin.
Slow Slow slow. It's slowing down my website, even with just basic features.
I've been working with the developers of Exchange for the last couple of years to build integrations between it and some other platforms and am always thrilled by the responsiveness of the development team and pleased with the overall experience of the plugin.
Exchange is simple, flexible, reliable, and all around top notch. Not to mention, it comes from iThemes, a company I wouldn't hesitate to rely on for a moment. You're in good hands with the team at iThemes.
Not likely. Much too complex and difficult to understand. Doesn't show products on the Store page. Giving up frustrated.
Using Exchange as a membership solution looks good on paper - but in practice its quite different.
Beware the following issues (they may be irrelevant for some):
- The addons do not work on any Netregisty/TPP (Aussie) servers. No support offered on this.
- Unable to add fields to the registration form.
- Unable to 'Pro rata' membership fees according to date.
I wasted $200 on their pro pack and would recommend any potential buyers do very careful research before making a purchase.
...Why don't sell single add on?
i can't buy the pro pack..it's too expansive..but i would spend gladly for the "Product variant add on"
let me know
Not good plugin for digital downloads.Users cannot get files after purchase!!!
iThemes Exchange is an awesome alternative to WooCommerce.
We have used this plugin in a number of our stock Genesis themes. We've used it on a PTA website theme and on an LMS theme that integrates with LearnDash.
It was a perfect choice for the PTA template, because of it's ease of use. PTAs are managed by moms who volunteer and they are not heavy WordPress users. In most cases, this is the first time they've ever used WordPress, so a light weight plugin for an online store is critical.
On the LMS theme we used it because it already had built in integration for LearnDash. It made a nice add on without all the additional features that comes with WooCommerce.
I have Exchange on several sites. It is extremely easy to setup and use, but has some very powerful add-ons. The membership ability is better than anything I have seen.
It is very easy to add digital products.
A great tool.
Ithemes Exchange is great. Love all of their products and use them on my sites.
iThemes Exchange plugin is the best "all in" eCommerce solution in the WP ecosystem! Great support and great tutorials for beginners.
