Everything you need served on a silver platter. It even downloads the Geo IP Database for you... Manage blocking of front end and back end separately and control access to search engines.
I tested from multiple countries and did exactly what it's suppose to do.
It took me 5 minutes to install and configure the plugin. Very intuitive to use. If you read carefully every field from menu to menu you can't go wrong.
Installed on 1 test site and 2 production sites without a single issue. I would dismiss does that claim it doesn't work at all.
Glad to find this plugin. I was looking for a plugin to simply ban all countries except mine, I choose this one over the others because:
- Easy to configure
- Lots of options, even I don't need
- Blocked visitor report
- It works
I tried other plugins, but managed to make them work only after more than half hour. Compare to them, this iQ Block Country plugin really is a no-brainer.
1.1.15 New: No longer blocks category pages of categories you have not blocked.
Great! Thank you! But what about tag pages? They are blocked. Need more customize or don't block it.
Where can I find the API Key??????????????????
After install the plugin, and settings, there are no ip's in the .htacces file. this will say, that there is no protection at all fore the website, AT front even so not in the backside of the wordpress
Now it can be, that you need a API key to activate this plugin that it wil work. but if there is no answer back.
This plugin is not working at all
Using this plugin on several sites to block several countries from the WordPress backend.
Absolutely one of the best plugin's I've installed. I used to pay a small fortune to block countries until I found this. I have no connection to the author whatsoever but I feel we need to take the time to rate good plugins well when we find them, and donate to the authors so it's worth it to them to keep the things updated.
First it was recommended by s friend who uses the plugin and got 6 blocks in the first 30 minutes after installing.
I haven't got this experience but I liked the multi option and the very easy to install and use.
It works and its easy to use.
As others have said, it would be useful to be able to select a WHITELIST of countries and have the plugin select the non-requested countries automatically. It would also be easier to have certain "geographic zones" selected with a single click, rather than having to select every country individually. I have chosen NOT to downgrade the plugin for this shortcoming.
The tools area was useful in discovering that many attacks are launched from countries I would have considered "safe", and leads me to make a suggestion for an improvement.
Would it be possible to use crowd sourced feedback from all the copies of this plugin installed worldwide to collect a list of IP addresses that routinely probe WordPress backends, and use that information to SUGGEST IP addresses that should be added to the blacklist, regardless of country?
