This plugin has stopped a lot of the attacks on my site.
I'm only withholding a star because it throws an unnecessary error right after install, asking that you update tables that it created. The documentation could be a tad cleaner.
Handy plugin, saves a quite a bit of hassle. One thing that I find a bit annoying is there's no way to show more rows in the "Failed logins" page (this is the page where you can select IPs that have been denied and blacklist them). Sometimes I find thousands of entries here and blacklisting them can take a long time, since you have to go through each page. I ended up hardcoding a larger number into the mysql query, but an option in the plugin would be ideal.
Experienced a few minor issues where I was seeing an error message on the Blacklist Statistics, but the author replied to my question within minutes with a fix.
I had no idea how many Bots were attempting to hack my site (attempting to login as "admin", etc, with random passwords) until I installed this plugin. It provided a much needed added layer of security you probably didn't even know you needed.
This is a great plugin to block those annoying bots trying to login to the admin area. Just a shame that this info isn't really used to build a database that other users can benefit from. I see the same range of bots appear on multiple sites I maintain, so apparently nothing is done with the info provided by blocking site.
It would also be nice to have some sort of automatic "default" answer when blocking sites. When I block 50 invalid logins, I don't want to answer all these 50 questions about why I blocked it individually.
For blocking IP's just for your own site, this plugin is absolutely great!
Frequently enhanced and great functionality. I like this plugin for all the reasons stated, and especially since I can export a blacklist from one site to import into another. Developer has provided a two hour turnaround on a support question. Can't complain about that.
I wish I could add multiple ip's at once but i guess it's doing it's job. I have a new IP trying to hack my site every day and it gets old after a bit. Maybe a button or a faster way to add failed IP's from login attempts would be an AWESOME update, hint hint..
Over all I think it's doing it's job.
