pretty good plugin to perform, exactly what is described on their website. with the help of "IP blocker" pro plugin i was able to stop the spammers and my competitors who were increasing load on my server by continuously opening my website pages.
I tried this plugin right after using wordpress and knew nothing about wordpress or this plugin, but still managed to stop spam and unwanted Ips using this plugin. The support is good when you have questions. Thanks for a great product.
This plug-in shuts down my entire website. It keeps throwing error codes and then has a fatal error which blocks everyone from seeing my site. The auto-block feature is off and Both me and my web developers have tried working with lionscript to resolve this issue. They are slow to respond and after almost 2 weeks there is still no resolution to fix the issue. We gave them the error code and the option to log into the website to look further into the issue. They claim they have 24 hour support, but it takes 3-5 days to hear back from them or even no response at all without a follow up did you get my email? I paid $50 for the pro-version, paid my webdesign company to install it, and I have nothing to show for it!!! Other than when it's running, I can't get any business because everyone is locked out.
Very unhappy customer. I will update this review if they can resolve the issue with their plugin shutting down my entire site.
I recently purchased their pro version and had some trouble while configuring the plugin as i belong to humanities background. So contacted the support team via email.
What then? You'll be surprised that they called me within 5 minutes on my cell and assisted me over the phone.
I have never seen such kind of support anywhere throughout my life, not even at the big players and market leaders' support center.
Customer service is the key to success for any firm and seems lionscripts knows it very well.
I have used wordpress and few other CMS in last one year but prefer WordPress personally. WordPress provides its best to get the site ready almost instantly and make it a money generating machine. But with the number of sites increasing on a regular basis, managing all spam comments, and increasing sserver costs due to unwanted users was becoming a headache for me.
Few days ago one of my friends suggested to use WordPress IP Blocker to get rid of the SPAM MESS and ABNORMAL SERVER LOAD due to unwanted people. I downloaded the Lite version to try and found that it is accomplishing its task very neatly. Hence downloaded the WordPress IP Blocker Pro to get more protection. I have been using the Lite version on 4 websites and Professional one on 3 and must admit that the features, be it Automatic IP Blocking with IPV6 support, or Country blocking are working perfectly and saving my time in looking after all spam and reducing my server bills by stopping the unwanted users away from my site just like Hulu and Netflix.
I haven't tried the INTRANET thing which the Lionscripts is calling as 'Personal Network Viewer', but my friend Kim is using the plugin for INTRANET only for his organization so that proves its operation as well.
Wish if the organization can provide a product mix to provide more options to users regarding complete protection of the websites.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT (read on if you care about the accessibility of your sites and if you value your time...)
There are serious flaws in WP IPBlocker Pro that will cause it to block your own IP address which will lock you out of your own admin. EVEN IF YOU HAVE EXCLUDED YOUR OWN IP as instructed. Also, blocking configurations other than explicit IP addresses can simply stop working. For almost anyone, the free version that blocks a list of explicit IP addresses is probably adequate PLUS you will not be taking any risk that your site becomes inaccessible to you (unless you really are careless enough to put your own IP address on the list).
The country blocking, timed blocking and explicit access features in the Pro version would be great if they were reliable, but they simply are not. Other than being blocked from your own site, if the blocking of countries or IP ranges fails you simply will never know. The real issue in all this is that only corrective measure is to provide LionScripts tech support with FTP and database access so that they can clean out configuration settings and data. While it's nice that LS provides this tech support freely, who has the time for this nonsense? If you can afford to have your site(s) go offline and have the time to waste bringing them back, then maybe the risk is worth if for you. But be warned that if you purchase the Pro version and determine it is too risky for you to use or does not live up to its claims, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET A REFUND. The developer has done nothing to protect the underlying code (which is simply an extension of the free version readily available in online repositories - which you could extend yourself if you wanted to) and so will claim that they cannot invalidate the software and so you would most likely use it for free after a refund. So LS will not only blame you for anything that does not work properly they will ALSO imply that you are likely a dishonest customer who is simply trying to get something for free. LS will send your their "no refund" policy in support of their position ... a policy that is NOWHERE to be found on their site or landing pages where you are likely to purchase the product.
There is ample evidence in online forums that these problems exist and that they occur often enough to warrant concern about using this product on any site of value (and if your site does not mean that much to you, then you probably don't care to go this level of protection anyway).
Bottom-line - JUST DON'T BUY THE PRO VERSION or you will likely regret it at some point.
purchased full version and after several months it stopped working without me changing or updating anything. The plugin doesn't block any countries/IP instead it blocks my own IP and there is no option to remove that from the list. I opened a support ticket and was told it should be working, I replied with more details, it's been over a month and no reply :(
Macht seine Arbeit. Was noch wünschenswert wäre, ist eine Statistik welches IP-Adressen geblockt wurden.
Yes the Software is good, but I am totally amazed by LionScripts Support. The response is super-instant. :D
Actually I downloaded and installed the WordPress IP Blocker Pro and then I thought that software has an issue that it is not blocking the IP addresses. I contacted LionScripts Support and they immediately responded, took my system on Team-Viewer and figured out - It was a caching problem in Google Chrome. No problem was there in the software. They cleared the cache and wholla, everything started working fine.
IP Blocker absolutely works as per my expectations by giving me a nice wordpress interface to block the IP Addresses. Prior using it people were only saying to block the IP Addresses by .htaccess file. But that's very typical to do for a blogger like me.
