Fixed Photon and Tiled Galleries!
By , for WP 4.1

After moving a client's blog to a new server, I discovered that the Jetpack plugin's Photon and Tiled Galleries functions were producing broken images. After some research, I found that it was because the large original image files were taking too long to upload to Photon's servers. (They timeout after 10 sec.)

The images were "insanely" large, so reducing their size wouldn't be a problem for layout, but I was looking at hundreds of existing images. On top of that, I couldn't expect my client to resize all of their images before uploading the the future.

I searched for a plugin to ease my woes, found Imsanity, ran the bulk resizer, and now everything works beautifully. Thank you!!

Works silently

Set it once and it works silently or choose bulk resize. Very handy.

...as simple as that.
Found some huge image files/mistakes from early days - one was reduced from 8000 px / 11MB to 1200 px/ 300k. Guess it saved me about 250 MB of disk space.
(Fun and useful feature: How much saved by shrinking the images?)

Great plugin. I use it on almost every WordPress site I create.

I had problems with clients uploading excessively large images onto their WordPress pages and then complaining about loading times. I would show them the correct method to upload images, but all-in-all it was a hassle for them to get it right.

I've not had a single problem with large images since installing this plugin. Can't recommend it enough. I've also created a video review of this plugin if anyone would like to see it in action.
