I'm sure it can become even better, but it's already a very cool plugin.
If you like the power of Google Custom Search, but prefer to see results in the standard wordpress search page instead of an iframe with Google-like page, this is what you're looking for.
I was unable to get this plugin working at all, despite trying every type of API key I could imagine (and getting different error results each time).
Just a heads up, Google recently changed their interface, so to find your API key, you need to:
Hopefully that helps. Just a note - this was written April 6, 2015, so if Google updates their interface after that time, these steps may no longer be the same.
This plugin really does what it says it does. I've tried about 4 other plugins (some free some premium) but none even came close to this.
I must admit... finding the info on google IS THE HARD PART!
Look for APIs & auth> APIs > Custom Search API > and setup.
PLUS Go to https://www.google.com/cse/all and getting the (CX) is a pain.
But ONCE you copy those two little lines of code into this amazing plugin... you will HATE that you missed hundreds of sales without it! I've watched people ("real-time" google analytics) and almost feel the frustration when the person doesn't find what they are looking for!!! This plugin give you the POWER of GOOGLE right in the simple search bar that is already in the theme! This plugin is so under rated... It took me FAR too long to find it.
TAKE THE 20 min to figure it out... this is a MUST HAVE plugin!!!!

Google's power BEHIND your wordpress ...
But more options is required, for example it is required to limit display of categories or tags or homepage in results ...
Amazing! stock wordpress search is bad, this is awesome!
Got exactly what I wanted, a custom google search box that fit perfectly into my two column blog. I think the instructions could be a little more detailed for non techie people but I got through it, so thanks! :-)
None of the Google branding and much more accurate searching. Hopefully it doesn't make my site so popular I need to start paying for the extra searches! Good work.
