Great LIGHTWEIGHT Google Calendar Plugin!

This was the perfect solution.

It works very well

I'm reading other reviews bashing the plugin upgrade which broke the original Google Calendar formatting. It did mess up the formatting but it didn't take a long time to fix the issue. So it wasn't a big deal for us.

We have been using the free version on 3 sites and zero problems so far.

Worst plugin upgrade ever

Upgrade is essentially a totally new plugin, which broke two production sites. The "legacy" plugin doesn't seem to work properly with lists

Upgrade BROKE Google Calendar formatting
By ,

The old Google Calendar plugin that this is suppose to replace was working wonderfully. Saw the notice in the Plugins list that there was a new version. Knowing that Google often updates their API's I jumped in and upgraded. Boy am I sorry. I'll likely be looking for a plugin from a source other than these developers.

This NEW, yes it is completely NEW, "Simple Calendar" plugin should have been released separately from the old Google Calendar plugin, because it fails to replicate how things were displaying before, especially with a view format of "List". Plus, there is NO backward path, to return back, except for doing a site restore from backup. You'll be starting over if you want to go back.

If new, this plugin is probably acceptable, as long as you want to be FORCED to have a Prev/Next header above your List, with empty buttons (ie. "Prev" & "Next" buttons are blank so they look like empty squares with rounded corners).

I recommend the "Legacy Google Calendar" plugin, except I'm doubtful that support for this will continue very long, and if Google updates their API you'll just be looking for a different plugin.

Nice tool for presenting Google Calendar
By , for WP 4.4.1

So far, thus has been a good tool for showing Google Calendar information. I've been able to show three separate calendars as one page. There where a few issues going from Rev 2 to 3, but so far 3 has been worth growing pains.

Easy to set up and use

Very simple to use, connects easily to Google Calendar. Nice a clean to look at.

OK but lacking
By , for WP 4.4.1

I am a mobile DJ and I want to put a calendar on my website to show customers when I am already booked (so they don't waste their time requesting quotes for dates I am not going to be available).

This plugin appeared to be able to do what I wanted, but fell short in some ways --- granted, I am probably being very picky and trying to stretch this plugin beyond its intended use, so take that with a grain of salt when reading this review. For most average uses, this plugin is probably a great solution.

The monthly grid view looks OK on a full-size PC, but when you squish the width of the browser down to mobile device size, the "responsive" mode changes event names to just a dot/bullet, which doesn't really tell users much unless they click through (which I'd like to avoid).

The list view is the only other view offered. It's similar to Google Calendar's agenda view, but takes up a lot of vertical space. I'm sure this can be altered via CSS, but I just don't have the time to bother with it.

I also thought it was a bit slow when loading from one month to the next. Most of my clients are looking for dates roughly a year or so into the future, so I'd prefer to give them a faster way to jump ahead to future months.

I was almost willing to overlook the above issues anyway, but the final test was when I tried to put the calendar shortcode into a "faq" page, where the calendar was in its own FAQ item and my contact form would be in a separate FAQ item. The items are collapsible (thanks to another plugin) so users can choose to open or close the calendar at will. However, both list and grid mode failed to display properly in this manner. Most notably, the buttons to move between months were missing.

So, plugin deleted and I'm off to find another solution.

Functions as it should and takes on the looks of your theme. Easy to use and I did contact support and received friendly, fast and accurate help.

Very Simple to use

Simple Calendar made it very easy to add a calendar to a team website. I have the calendar list view in the sidebar and the calendar grid view on a page. I update only the Google calendar and the event propagate to the website. What could be easier than that!
