Thank you for a wonderful plugin that has saved me hours of trying to figure out how to add the authorship to my posts and pages. Donation well deserved :-)
Works well, thanks
Excelent plg in. Is simple and effective. Recommended!
Like anitamfowler15, I've spent some time with Google+ Authorship. With three Google+'s attached to my name/site it seemed complicated. Luckily I had all the Google+ end sorted so it was just a matter of pasting in the Google Verify link and selecting Author Name and post I wanted verified with this plugin.
Maybe someone can answerthis:- do I still need Authorship Email Verification?
Rich Snippets verifys everything except for the message Automatically detected author name on webpage: Not Found. under Authorship Email Verification (Yes I've verified my email with Google..
So the Google Author Link Plugin Works, but do I have to wait & see if I'm really verified?
So I've gone through about every step to set up google authorship including multiple tutorials. For some reason the codes I was using, the email verification, and every other thing was not working until I found your plug in. In 3 minutes I had google authorship working for me.
just a side note. for those who are very new at wordpress, plugins etc. the descriptions/instructions could have been better. Since I have been trying for weeks to set it up I knew where the links were etc. so I'll go back and reply to the one star guy above that was having difficulty. here is what I outlined for us 'non-coder' people.
First set up your google + account with a photograph of yourself.
Second, log into wordpress on the left side bar click on plugin
Third, click on add new under the drop down under plugin
Fourth, In the search box type in Google Author Link
Fifth, click on the Install now
Sixth, click on Activate now
Seventh, go back to your lefthand side bar and click on settings
8- Click on the Settings button and you will see the drop down
9-Click on Google Author link
10-under google authorship (first paragraph) there is a little link to your user profile, click on that and then click edit.
11- you will need to open a new tab and go to your google+ account and copy and paste your URL from google +
12- it will look something like this https://plus.google.com/u/0/105130-----------93/posts (I took my numbers out for privacy) and can be found by clicking the home drop down menu, clicking on profile, and copying the address on the url bar at the top once you are on your profile page.
13- copy your google + profile url and paste it into the Google Profile URL box on your user page on wordpress and push Update profile.
14- Now go back to settings and google author link and go to the settings paragraph
15- under the drop down select your name
16- next go back to your google+ PROFILE page and under your photo you should see an about button, click on that.
17- copy and paste the url in the box. it will look like this: https://plus.google.com/u/0/105---------------693/about again i took my numbers out.
18- scroll down and click save settings
19- you are done. to verify this has worked clear your cache. If you don't know how to do that google it.
20- After you have cleared your cache, go to this site and enter a url address for one of your posts from your site and google will verify that you are linked up.
I went through all this trouble of creating a step by step because after a few weeks of trying a bunch of things this is the only one that worked and it only took me a few minutes! YAY!!! I hope it helps you as well.
I installed the plugin and it worked exactly as advertised. I tested using the link included in the plugin (the Google Rich Snippet test) and confirmed that my profile was now showing up.
The directions could be a little simpler, but overall it all worked. Took about five minutes to set it up.
I added by google plus business page as the author and now my logo is in the search results...AWESOME!!!! :)
Super easy to use. Once installed and activated, Settings appear under "Settings" in the main Dashboard menu.
Don't forget to clean up the cache (I've wasted such a waste of time becaus of this one :/)
This plugin offers my users the Option to add a Google Profile link and then adds the information to post meta tags. Exactly what I wanted.
