That's pretty much it.

Rather Unpleasant Transition
By , for WP 4.5.2

I oversee several larger scale e-commerce sites which all have been using this plugin for at least a year. Recently MonsterInsites has acquired the property rights from Yoast, and with it caused quite a bit of trouble for me :P

For starters, upon this new ownership, it would seem that everyone using the plugin had to endure quite a load of updates. Much of which seemed pointless and more brand-related, neglecting the current customer-base. I have even noticed the logo on the backend being drastically changed ATLEAST 2 times (so much so that I was getting requests that clients were not able to find the plugin!!!).

More recently an update was rolled out for tracking e-commerce data, which ultimately failed, no longer recording transactions (something rather important to e-commerce business). Luckily I keep all the sites which are under my eye in version control repo for situations like this and was able to roll back the changes... but what about the missing data I now have to account for when deciphering analytical data.

Now I understand that Monsterinsights is only trying to understand the way everything works here, but as mentioned before, all of this BRANDING stuff being thrown into updates needs to stop! I have not yet moved to another solution BUT can certainly admit to having looked around for an alternative (and to being somewhat convinced of sending my business elsewhere).

On that note, I regretfully would encourage everyone to go elsewhere in search of a Google Analytics plugin, as these guys have only made things difficult thus far.

Good, but not the best
By , for WP 4.5

Well, we use(d) this plugin for a while but decided to move to another one. The reason is simply that it is not as convenient as others. For example: The information is not shared on the WP dashboard but it has an own one. This makes the work just not as smooth as it could be. Further, some features of the "Pro"-Version are available in other plugins too.

It is not a bad plugin, but at the moment it also not the one we think is the one that suits our needs.

Functionality died with new ownership
By , for WP 4.5

Today ownership transferred to MonsterInsights from Yoast. Used to be a simple app. Now it says I have to verify the app through Google Analytics differently than the copy-and-paste code I prefer. Says "the old method will not work". If it won't work, then I'm switching apps. Uninstalled.

Irritating and untrustworthy
By , for WP 4.5

I am deleting this plugin on all sites where I've installed it, and I will be sticking with my long-time favorite, Google Analytics Dashboard for WP. It's a simple, set and forget plugin with the basic, most useful reports.

I started to use the previous versions of this plugin when Yoast owned it because I think he provides a good balance between decent freemium products (that I trust will be maintained well) and the commercial need to upsell additional features. Now, under its new ownership, this plugin hijacks the WP admin interface with large, loud, and in my opinion ugly branding and nonstandard notifications. This is disruptive and disorienting to the user, and it indicates a nagware marketing model in which the user is treated as a target for spam. That's a trust-breaker for me, so I'm out and heartily disrecommending this plugin and the company behind it.

Jumping ship

I've deleted this plugin on all my sites and switched to Google Analytics Dashboard for WP which, in my opinion, is a better choice. Very easy to set up and it has more relevant/useful reports in dashboard.

Best Google Analytics plugin ever
By , for WP 4.5

This plugin is surely the best Google Analytics plugin ever.
The latest features are exciting and will must try them out anytime sooner.

This is NOT Yoast anymore
By , for WP 4.5

Apparently, Yoast has sold this plugin to some other guy who does not even take the time to explain why and how he gained control over it.

It took me some time to understand how this bullshit plugin has been installed on my website. I realised too late it was by updating the Google Analytics by Yoast plugin. Sorry Chris and Syed, by I trust Yoast and the way you gained control over his plugin does not encourage me to trust you.

Get attacked
By , for WP 4.5

As soon as I installed this I was visited immediately by a dozen spammers like:

[ Spammy links redacted, please do not post those again. ]

and more

Also the reports are almost useless. So I uninstalled. I'm using Yoast.

As soon as I read the plugin had been taken over by Syed, I knew it was time to leave. The man goes about one thing, and one thing only, monetization. Make no mistake, he's coming for your wallet! So I'm moving all my sites over to Google Analytics Dashboard for WP, which was recommended on WP Tavern.

Hope this helps someone.
