The idea is great, but...
- In Firefox there are artifacts http://imgur.com/tD3EVVf
- There is no way to select posts for slider with simple checkboxes without creation of a separate category or tag
- The slider is not responsive indeed (just change browser window width and get scared by what you see)
I love this plugin. Can you make a change though? When using pages in the slider, it would be easier to choose the pages and order them, without having to get the page number. Also, with version 4.3.1 the comma spacing of the pages means nothing for the order in which they appear on slider. Ordering by date seems to be the only way I can control this, but the date order is from most recent to oldest. A bit more customization would be appreciated for page options. thank you!
This is a great plug-in ... thank you!
Not *exactly* as advertised. You say, "The slideshow is also responsive and will automatically adjust for the screen it is being displayed on." But you don't say that it drops the display content on small screens, eg. smart phones. I would say that the slides, then, are responsive only partially.
When I approached your help folks, they said, "The child theme has code that is hiding the excerpt for the slider on mobile devices since the text needs to be so small to display correctly on mobile. You can edit the child themes style.css file and remove the code that is hiding the excerpt, but you will also need to add code to reduce the size of the text so it displays correctly."
So, not 100% responsive without editing the code. Bummer.
This plugin is perfect: light and simple. But I can't use it since I need to show images not related to posts/pages.
I've tried this several times. Recently with executive Pro child theme. The thing looks good until I load the page on my iPad Mini. Landscape works half the time and portrait never. Settings dont seem to have exact control on smaller screens. Too bad because on most screens it works fine. Ive moved on to a paid solution that is no headaches.
Like that I can choose to feature posts or pages, very cool!
Genesis itself is a great platform. I'm using the Executive Pro theme and I'm using this plugin for my homepage slider. (You can see mine slider at 3DForged.com.)
I did have a little trouble sorting the posts in the order I wanted them to show up, but ultimately I solved the problem by using the 'sort by date' option.
Overall, excellent plugin and I was able to edit it to fit the style of my site!
A must for my Genesis sites.
I wish there where a few more features to choose from, but I do love the simplicity of this plugin so maybe it's fine just the way it is ;-)
This still works great for Genesis users. It's simple and easy to use.
