I am doing a project where the less complicated the plug in the better. I find that this plug in so far has been a good beginning. It may not have tons of features or lots of bling, but it is simple and easy to administer. Not everyone starts out in Word Press as a developer and sometimes it makes sense to start with basics.
20 dollars for something many others offer for free...thanks
Too bad! Better not try, because the settings are almost no free version. Worst of plug-ins, PRO version has no desire to buy. Rated 1 out of 5.
If you are using pretty URLs, gallery images are broken everywhere, except on the front page, because the image paths are being printed relative to the current URL.
A really simple, silly mistake. All the plugin author had to do was output absolute URLs with site_url( $imgSrc ).
Really you think this will work?
Line 31 - gallery-template.php
$count_all_albums = $wpdb->get_var( "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM wp_posts WHERE 1=1 AND wp_posts.post_type = 'gallery' AND (wp_posts.post_status = 'publish')" );
Did you think that someone could name his prefix in a different way that "wp_"?
This looks like a newbie plugin be carefull to install it, it could break your hole theme.
greate gallery plugins
Upgrade to PRO! Did I mention UPGRADE TO PRO? If not, UPGRADE TO PRO.
Ok, besides being pummelled with that everywhere you look, there is no obvious way that I see to actually create a new gallery. Funny since the name of the plugin is "gallery".
After installing 4.2.7 on my theme it worked fine. But after 1 hour my complete theme was gone. I checked in the theme settings and it said the theme was broken. First I thought it was just unlucky and I screwed up myself. The wole theme folder, inclusing my custom CSS was gone.
Today, 2 days later I made another WP site (with a complete other theme) and once again installed this plugin. After about 5 minutes it screwed up my theme again... including the custom CSS.
This plugin always worked until V.4.2.7
Couple hours of work is gone and I hope it will get fixed soon!
I am using this plugin on my site mypixworld.net
Received a reply to my support request three days after I had submitted my ticket. Usual issue, gallery won't work on non-standard templates. I had already resolved the issue by just switching to a NEXTgen gallery.
When the reply came, it had just enough condescension in it ('If you have programming skills, then you will cope with this modification easily') to motivate me to post this review.
