The docs for this plugin are a mess of yellow highlighted boxes and red arrows - thankfully the buttons are clearly labelled. You will eventually get an album set up. However, reordering images is part of the premium package, so get it right. And anything but grid-style albums are part of the premium package. Basically, unless you want something other than what Jetpack can already do for free, you're paying for premium.
I understand people want to make money, but the free demo (and that's what it is, effectively) is too limited to really tell what the Pro version can do.
Uninstalled. Maybe you will have more luck.
-- plugin works (now)
-- strange behaviour of support, i mean who deletes a thread in a forum even if you solve that problem?
Good support, problem solved. But support can be a little quicker and they didn't confirm my question what caused the problem. SQL injection was detected and blocked.
I'm afraid this is not a plugin I'd recommend using.
It's basically crippleware.
For example on first use I went to add a new album and was confronted with:
"You will be only allowed to add 3 galleries. Kindly purchase Premium Version for full access"
If you want to create a premium plugin then I have not problem with that. Just don't list it on WordPress.org.
I reviewed a number of "galley" plugins and it looked like Gallery Bank provided the best feature match. It was difficult to tell from the free version because it was just a commercial for the $27 pro plugin. I purchased the pro version and had a couple of minor problems. One with the Pretty Photo gallery which seems to be designed to fight with a site visitor trying to use it (thumbnails keep popping up over the text you want the visitor to see.) The other was flashing between some of the pictures in the Color Box style. I posted a video showing the problem to Vimeo and emailed Tech Banker support. They responded with "give me your sign in and FTP passwords." I wrote back saying that was little intense when they had not even looked at the video. I never heard back. I did figure out the flashing on my own and now use the plugin and find it does a creditable job. The 3 stars were given for the poor tech support responses. The plug in deserves 4, but hope you just don't need tech support.
I'd tested the trial for 2 weeks, before buying the Pro Edition.
- First big deception was pagination. Pagination count rows not items, and in the trial it was not possible to pick that up because of the limitation of 10 photos in one album.
- Does not work very well on iPad, mainly because of the size of the button's link. Good for mouse but too tiny for fingers. To go back and forward between photos on iPad, you have to be lucky to find the right spot to click on.
- I had problems with plugin's css. Even and odd rows, when turning on pagination, alternate color. It's a really unpleasant design. And, for my surprise, this option was not an easy option to change, there are some other less important options, like change lightbox color, that is directly in the plugin's page as a possible configuration.
- Support team works, just when they are online! Don't leave them a message when they are offline because they won't answer you back.
