This is a fix of Top Level Categories plugin for WordPress 3.1. and above.
You should note that it is simply a code, that can be found in the internet. YES, there are some limitations that could be pointed out by plugin developers (for example, it does not work for non-latin URLs and can make a mess after being deactivated) and errors caused by users that use some imcompatible code in some of their files while searching for a solution.
BUT, some nice guys keep updating it for you ;) So, respect their work. If you have any code with workarounds - please, share. If you do not have workarounds - learn PHP. )))
If I get this plugin right it's just working for article and post categorys? Since it wont work for my shop.
I got this /product-category/Brand/
for a specific product i got /compare/the-specific-product/
witch plugin should I got if i would like to have url-structure like this
and when someone click into a specific product
or it could be
Thanks for the help this url-structure making me crazy :)
It indeed does what it is supposed to do, but it does not clean after itself after being deactivated!
After I deactivated it, the category URLs start pointing to the Home page.
Now I have no choice but to keep it :(((
Aggrrhh, this is not good.
Does exactly what it is supposed to do.
I have tested this plugin for a week. It generally works but sometimes I encounter 404 pages for category and posts pages.. I removed the plugin and the 404 problems fixed..
Don't waste your time searching how to rewrite rules to get this done.
Just download the plugin and activate. Nothing to configure.
Works with version 4.0
Worked like a charm with WP 3.9.2
See here for an example:
Does what it says, and does it well.
Works with the latest version of WordPress!
