User experience is similar to what I can only imagine as being waterboarded in Guantanamo Bay. Great job Facebook! Oh and way to start the "Arab Spring!" Oh wait, I mean ISIS....
I mean, I am using WordPress since 2006 and am used to complicated plugins as the imagesize crunchers, that require whole libraries and toolworks to set up on your server, but dealing with Facebook is just overannoying to set up.
Instead of giving a detailed step by step setup process the authors leave you to find out yourself how these things work, just to find out that after a few hours that this isn't the tool you want to use. It is so horrible and not even worthy of the 1 star you have to give.
The team that made facebook messenger for android phones must be related to this wordpress plugin. at least is nice to see facebook is giving a job opportunity to intellectually disabled people.
Not working. That is to say from me!
How to configure facebook APP to post automatically in the facebook page is not explain, it's so complicated.
I think it's more simple to use directly PHP SDK than this plugin.
Like the countless other 1 star ratings, I'm unable to to do things.
First, in the "Social Publisher" link, there is an "x" next to step 3, which is titled "Authenticate with Facebook to allow your Facebook application to post to your Timeline or Page on your behalf when a post is published"
Second, I cannot "Add a Facebook account to your WordPress account".
When I attempt the 2nd option, it opens a pop-up window, like it is actually doing something, but then it immediately closes without any helping message at all.
The Facebook App documentation is useless, as is the documentation and support for this plugin. I've wasted a good 3 or 4 hours of my day trying to make this thing work, and I consider myself rather technically inclined. But I really have no interest in digging through the code of the plugin to figure what it's supposed to be doing, and what it is not doing.
First Facbook kicked out all other well working plugins by absurd resrictions on the API and then they don't care to produce a well working plugin.
I did expect this to happen but still its annoying.
No update, no one actually reply to support topics.
Unable to save app id.
Instructions to add
add_filter('https_ssl_verify', '__return_false'); were not helpful.
As of this review the Facebook plugin has not seen an update in about 9 months which is disgraceful. How many updates has WordPress and other plugins seen in that time? Not to mention this is a complicated plugin that requires creating a Facebook app ID and is buggy. The share button for example only show half the pop up window so is useless. It gives open meta graph errors with Yoast SEO. Come on Facebook and get your act to gather and issue an update or delete this plugin all together and let people that want to support it and update it frequently write one for you.
Facebook obviously has forgotten they even have a WordPress plugin and this is an embarrassment to them. Pathetic
