The Facebook Comments WordPress plugin makes it easier for you to setup, administer and customise Facebook comments from your WordPress site.
I decided to remove the plugin as it also stopped images loading on the page, slow load time, issues refreshing the page. Editing php pages and finding ways to replace the default wordpress comments defeats the entire reason of installing a plugin. I'll use one of the other FB comments plugins.
The author just referred to a small sentence within the plugins settings where editing php pages is needed, after doing that it still wasn't good. The topic was also set to "resolved" before I even had a chance to reply.
The "sort by" fly-out that can be used to sort the comments by Top, Newest, Oldest gets cut off no matter if I use 100% width or a shorter custom width.
It would also be nice to disable the "0 Comments" and the "Sort by" all together to make for a cleaner look.
We tried this plugin, but have experienced nothing but issues. It intermittently fails, displaying no comments at all. This appears to only occur when a page is popular (exactly when you don't want it to fail) and has received numerous comments.
We reached out to the developer and received no response. I understand this is a free product, and I commend the developers for donating their time, but save yourself some headache and find a plugin that works more consistently.
I'm changing my review as this plugin doesn't work and the developer ignores my requests. But the idea was not bad.
I was looking for easy way of adding facebook commenting to my site. This plugin was my choice. This is very easy to adjust and you can set how to use it. It can be added after your content just checking the box in the settings or you can add just a small piece of code to your template and place the comment box where you need it. Also this is linked with your FB app. Also you are able to change the size of the comment box and it is self-adjusted on mobiles.
You may check it on my site to see how it is: [ link redacted, please do not post links in reviews ]
inserts links to the author's page without user consent, etc.
Will not work on a fresh install if allow_url_fopen is disabled otherwise this plugin would rate 5 stars but as allow_url_fopen is disabled by default on most security conscious severs there will be more and more instances where this plugin will not work.
The comments plugin requires an href parameter.
maybe i didn't find the right way?
say , leave blank on url, but the result is , The comments plugin requires an href parameter., by the option..: <
Did you really have to ruin your plugin by adding a backlink without even asking or allowing us to opt out?, well done.
Unless it does not display the comments according to the posts it is absolutely useless! Now I have several comments and don't know what the people mean, or which post it belongs to. Also the checkbox for switching off the credit does not work. So why is it there, if you dont want us to switch it off? And when clicking on the "visit plugin site" at installed plugins, it redirects me to your paypal site for donation. So now I know whats the main priority: money.
