Found errors on many places such as on event calendar widget and event pages that require sidebar.php.
After uninstalled this plugin did not clean its tables and option value.
I was think that it might be very good plugin after added venue and event but it's not.
Event cannot edit occurances at all.
I had to build a website for a festival and after a comprehensive research I ended up choosing Events Organiser Pro as the events manager. And boy, I'm glad I did!
My client kept throwing requisites during development and EO kept delivering!
There's a lot of relevant features in this plugin, it's highly customisable and has some seriously good support (cheers Stephen!).
I feel EO really bent over backwards to accommodate all the features I needed for the website and left me truly impressed with it's flexibility.
I came to Events Organiser from another events management plugin. Whilst it took me some time to get my head around the way repeated Events are handled (my "pre-conception" rather than a plugin issue - think of an Event as an object that can have an array of dates - rather than a one to one relationship of Event with Date - and you've "got it"), this makes for a superior "client experience" when managing multiple repeated events.
Good documentation is available as both "user guide" and codex, although we would benefit from a few more detailed examples (me being "thick"!). That said, the sample code provided with the plugin will cover almost all your "regular" scenarios (so check the files out). Support (whether you've purchased the plugin or not) is quick, professional and effective.
Would certainly recommend you check out Events Organiser if you're looking for an Event Management system that's easy for your clients to use.
Big thumbs up to the plugin and its' author Stephen Harris.
I design sites primarily for churches, and almost all of them want this functionality. So I've worked with a number of different plugins to achieve this result and this one is my new favourite. The main reasons are it looks great (picks up css from the theme), and it is dead-simple to use. Often I'm passing the site on to someone else to maintain - someone with limited computer skills, who doesn't want to scroll through a million technical options just to post an event. So my thanks to the developer for building this and making it available!
Having tried many other events management plugins for WordPress, Event Organiser is the one I keep coming back to for my clients. It's coded in the most 'WordPress' way, so developing themes using EO is very straightforward.
It may lack some of the shiny features of the bigger packages (namely ticketing), but most of my clients can be convinced to forgo ticketing (in place of guest lists) for the ease of use and stability of Event Organiser.
Keep up the awesome sauce, Stephen.
Excellent functionality. Great documentation. Shortcodes provide useful additional features. Highly recommended.
It only took me a couple of hours to transition one of my clients away from the (in)famous All-in-One Events Calendar. Event Organiser was incredibly easy to set up and once we'd moved over the site speed rocketed up.
My client needed iCal syncing with Google Calendars, so I picked up the ridiculously cheap extension for that. Where All-in-One calendar would take ages to sync and consistently drop events, Event Organiser pulled them in much quicker. The calendar loads more quickly on the frontend of the site as well, a big problem with All-in-One.
The templates required minimal changes because Event Organiser doesn't load things down with heavy, over-bearing styles and markup. This is definitely a developer-friendly plugin -- even more so than the other big calendar competitor, Modern Tribe's calendar, which tends to bury a lot of its frontend output in large wrapper functions that need to be rebuilt for proper templating.
I was looking for a simple ajax calendar with navigation. This is the best solution, even better then paid plugins.
Fantastic plugin, probably the best event/calendar plugin we've used to date. (And there have been quite a few 'experimented' with.)
Event Organiser may not be (quite) as intuitive or hands-off in initial set up as some, but its flexibility far surpasses others, and we've just started with it. If fact, the lack of flexibility of another 'all in one' calendar plugin made us abandon it and search for something better.
The documentation is well done, as is the structure and code itself. For developers, the templates are easily understood and customized by copying the files to your theme's root directory.
The CSV import plugin is essential if you're dealing with more than a handful of events to set up. And the calendar view in the admin is really smart.
It would be nice to see a few more things optionally controlled by admin options rather than only with shortcodes and arguments, but overall it's good enough that that's being nitpicky. This is the 'something better' that was needed!
