Allows the site editors to send an e-mail to the blog users. Credits to Catalin Ionescu who gave me (Vincent Pratt) some ideas for the plugin and has
Can you show Full Name of the user, not user name, when select for receiving email? user name in many cases cannot tell who is who
This has worked nicely for me for a couple of years.
But recent updates have been sending the full articles, while I wish to use excerpts as "ticklers" to bring our members onto the website and to participate in the blogger. I've not found a way of correcting that, so today I removed Email Users and will now reinstall a clean updated version to see if it will work for me again.
Just maybe there with a conflict with another like plugin called (?)"Notify Users". I've removed that because it had no option for using excerpts.
Nach anfönglichen Schwierigkeiten nach einem Update klappt jetzt alles wieder wie gewohnt.
Excellent plugin !
Very handy !
The Groups integration is definitly a life saver !
Seems to be ok.
I need a plugin to mail to my users one to one or one to group (using roles), and it works perfectly
The plugin is good, but when I insert/modify a new page (not post), I send a notification for my users, based on roles or individually, but the message is not customisable.
Example of the standard message:
I would like to bring your attention on a new post published on the blog. Details of the post follow; I hope you will find it interesting.
BUT MY SITE IS NOT A BLOG AND I DONT PUBLISHED A POST.
If this message header was customisable, was funtastic and complete, for blogs, web stores, web sites, etc...
It makes all of your official WP emails look fabulous.
I have been helping a friend develop a site where contractors grouped into specialty categories are submitted job requests by home owners and property managers. I was hoping to take the "easy way" out by using existing plugins like AWPCP & S2Member to quickly get a BETA version of the concept up and going to generate revenue in-order to have the capital to hire professional programers to build a more stable, custom solution. That was over a year ago. It is finally coming together and I am now doing the customization myself. The Achilles heel has always been the lack of a native and/or easily hacked plugin that would automate and filter the email alerts to the appropriate groups of contractors depending on the job category being submitted by the user. Somehow I missed this very functional, well maintained solution. It is perfect. I will note that one other issue was/is verifying the receipt of the notification emails which is crucial when charging for these notifications (i.e.: leads) and I was very surprised of the total lack of any type of email tracking and/or tracing system plugin. I own several travel online travel companies and have had to devise such systems to ensure clients received itineraries and maintain proof of such in case of dispute. So, in the interest of providing that potentially useful element to others who made need the same (as well as shameless self promotion) [ shameless self-promotion redacted ]
This plugin is the right tool if you have special requirements to send email to dynamically defined user groups. It needs some php-fiddling to get it working, but definitively much less than what the dinosaurs require.
