WordPress already has an excellent media management tool, but someone decided to reinvent the wheel. A desktop apps to accomplish web-based publishing is so backwards it makes me wonder who thought that was a good idea. It's the 21st century and has been for some time...
The sliders look nice, but the fact that you need to install an application on a local machine is a deal breaker. I like to keep my WordPress installs at my SERVER, thank you very much!
Add to this that I work most of the time on Linux desktops, which means that even if I wanted to, I can't install the app, since it's only Win and OSX.
This looked like the perfect slider plugin, but it requires installing Adobe Air on my PC, agreeing to Adobe terms, etc. before using (between that and my firewall warnings, installation ended up taking ten minutes), then it required entering my name and email address. After that, I still kept getting popups to update Adobe Air.
Imagine how challenging it would be to build and maintain WordPress websites if all plugins were this time-consuming and intrusive to use.
No thanks--uninstalled and unimpressed.
It seems to work with my site where other sliders would break the code of my theme.
Its a little slow when trying to go in and edit the Rotator but on the hole this is a great plugin.
Whats with that??!! No clients of mine will take the risk of that API rubbish. Dont know of a single other professional plugin that requires such a thing just for a simple slideshow.
Excellent marketing - poor delivery.
Such a pity
I'm NOT a programmer or anything such so something like this is a godsend. Ok, i read the reviews that you need to download some application, need it to work with Adobe etc, but for a novice like I, that's not really an issue.
It works well & is simple to use, only problem i can see is when it comes to Yslow, even using the advice given by the app dev, it still flags up as an issue. YES my site does use the stretch to fit option - but again as a novice i know no other way of making the main front page site banner look good :D
Anyway, i like it, i use it & it's ok
Unfortunately that Adobe stuff required for this plugin doesn't work at all on Safari / Chrome so was useless :(
Worked like a charm!
PS. Take a look it really adds to the site.
I really like the ease and capability of the pro version. I use it to upload photos to my Wall of Fame here: RabbiJason.com
It works great. It has lots of options, and lots of available display templates. I especially like that I can peg a slide show to one particular post.
