Dynamic Widgets gives you full control on which pages a widget will display. It lets you dynamicly show or hide widgets on WordPress pages.
The best plugin to manage widgets, thanks, five stars.
Very complete with multiple and selective configuration, very simple and complete, nice, the best.
Excellent ! Just a creating sidebar function is missing... It would be marvelous !
I like the facr that it's not in "implemented into the native widget-editor". It keeps it simple.
I just install this Plugin on my site! This is the Best Plugin for Widget Control. In my case, I use this plugin to show selected Adsense for Desktop and selected Ads for Mobile users only. LOVE IT!
Works well as advertised, easy to set up. Could us this to make as many custom sidebar combinations as you could come up with.
I tried several other widget plugins for controlling widgets based on page category. I also tried several different plugins for adding categories to pages. The only combination that worked for me was using Dynamic Widgets with the Category Tag Pages plugin.
Other category plugins may work as well, but I have a working solution that I am keeping.
The Dynamic Widgets setting is under Pages, then select the categories you want the widget to show or hide on. You need a compatible category plugin as I mentioned above. This earns my donation - thank you!
Works great for the most part, but recently I've noticed that some sites that are created in our multisite environment don't create the necessary tables, so the plugin gives an error. We are able to get around this by manually running
id int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT,
widget_id varchar(60) DEFAULT NULL,
maintype varchar(50) DEFAULT NULL,
name varchar(40) DEFAULT NULL,
PRIMARY KEY (
) ENGINE=InnoDB AUTO_INCREMENT=27 DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8;
where 100 is our site id. Not sure what's gunking this up, or if it's another plugin on our site, but just wanted you to be aware of this happening.
Saved my hours!
a great plugin, always stable
un gran plugin muy estable
molto utile e potente, con molte personalizzazioni !
The plugin does it's job fine. The reason I decided not to use it is the user experience. It's not implemented into the native widget-editor but rather adds yet another submenu. And it costs me to much time to actually make changes. "Every" step needs to be saved and the page is reloaded. The plugin is really powerful but the workflow eats up my time. PS: it wouldn't work when activated network wide. Had to activate it on every site individually.
