Hassle Free and Easy To Use
By , for WP 4.4.1

I cannot thank the developers of this plugin enough. I have moved domains manually many times in the past and it is a long, temperamental process.

This plugin makes it so easy and straight forward and most of all FAST.

It is developers like this that make WordPress what it is today.

Beautiful!

Huge time saver! The life on the grid website has good documentation and the actual installer itself has good instructions and features to keep things on point. I started trying to run the installer failing to realize that the archive file was not done uploading to the server. The installer came back with an error saying the file upload may not have been complete and to go back and try again. GREAT FEATURE.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Excellent Tool For Webmasters And DIY'ers
By , for WP 4.4.1

I have used this tool to move at least 10 websites all of them in different degrees of complexity to basic and not once have I ever had a problem! I couldn't have done that as quickly as I did without the help of this fantastic tool. It has come to my attention that there is another plugin using a similar name. Let me be clear this is the only tool you will ever need to move your site. The GUI is basic and easy, the instructions available are clear and precise from written to video. I highly recommend this plugin above all others. After 15 years of web mastering I feel qualified to say this is one of the top ten plugins needed in a webmasters toolkit!

wow, this was easy

It gave me two PHP errors in the diagnosis so I was worried there would be some issues, I even called my webhoster to ask them to change the settings. They said I should first try to ignore those warnings and migrate anyway. I did and it just worked like a charm.
The steps from the video are so easy and the whole thing is done within a few minutes. Thanks!

Fantastic Job guys!

My hosting was messing me about with my manual install not working even though settings in wp_config were all correct...

This saved my sanity about hours of going round in circles..

Thanks again and keep up the great work!!

Nice

The easiest free way to move a WordPress site
By , for WP 4.4.1

Love love love the Duplicator plugin. Have been using it for years now and it's been absolutely brilliant. I develop a site on a staging url and then use Duplicator to move the entire site to a brand new domain.

I used to move WordPress sites by hand and it was extremely tedious.. you could easily lose your widgets etc. But Duplicator makes it easy.

The only thing I've noticed is :

1) After a site is moved, you may not be able to login to WordPress using Chrome (Firefox and IE would still work) even though your username & password is correct, it leads you back to the WP login page. To fix this, just edit the wp-config.php file and add these lines and of course replace example.com with your own domain:

define('WP_HOME','http://example.com');
define('WP_SITEURL','http://example.com');

You'll then be able to login via Chrome.

2) Some hosting services need to be tweaked before Duplicator can run on that server.. I have come across this once in awhile and when this happens, you may be forced to try and find workarounds. Example, I had a client whose WP wouldn't allow Duplicator to generate the Installer file - so I ended up taking the Installer file from a different project and then editing it by hand to suit this new Duplicator Package etc.

In some cases I've been forced to use some commercial plugins because Duplicator just can't run. But thankfully, these cases are few and far between.
