I've been looking around for ages for something like this and it ticks all the boxes. It would be nice if the settings page included a feature where you can easily edit the position, color and style of the submit button (many people simply do not have the time to learn the intracacies of CSS coding which is really for developers not end users).
Totally Awesome concept of a plugin.
It is a little confusing trying to actually get it all set up. Has a higher learning curve than what I originally anticipated. Missed the issue with the 2 shortcodes needed to set up the process and had to go back and work that out.
To make this plugin over the top, give MailChimp sync for free.
Unfortunately when I click on Settings all I get is "You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page." My research has found that this requires something to be done by the developer to fix the plugin?
Double Opt-In for Download (DOIFD) was perfect for an easy-to-use plug-in for my client to capture leads for free downloads without the hassle of adjusting for 0.00 or pricing. The double opt-in makes it easy to build a good list for future emails, since the premium version will automatically add the leads to your mailing lists at ESPs like MailChimp. When I ran into a problem with a new update, customer support was awesome and the issue resolved within hours.
The plugin doesn't work. At all.
After asking a simple question he get rid of me try to ridicule my whole question.
It is clear that he doesn't read what I wrote and doesn't want to spend a single minute to give any kind of support.
Awful. Fortunately WordPress is populated by so many other different, kind and expert people!
Tries to answer my qesution, and ends t with saying: Sorry it didn’t work out for you.
And then locks the thread and puts it as "resolved" Don;t believe me?
I purchased the premium version and the plugin owner was trying to say that WP-Engine was corrupting the download.
Anyway, Just for grins I tried his plugin on a Hostgator and Godaddy server and it did the same thing. He was quick to respond, but if you read his post it seems that he always blames the hosting companies.
Does exactly what it says! I needed a plugin to gather emails upon download of a free resource. Simple to use and setup and straight to the point! With limited CSS knowledge you can make it look just the way you want.
I've been using Aweber to deliver a file from one of my sites for several years and I thought I'd look for an alternative as I simply wasn't making use of the subscriber list functions that I was paying for, but still wanted some control over delivery of the file.
This was absolutely perfect for the job and think even this simple version is worth a couple of quid, especially given the quick response from the dev. So pleased - this is the first time I've ever bothered to review a plugin!
The plugin installed great. Had to dig where to change the settings, such as upload the file and the landing page, but figured it out. Emails no problem, and there is an interface inside WP dashboard where you can manage the subscribers.
The only thing, on the options page there is no place to change the button color. By default it is drab grey. I want it RED!
How do I change that. If needed - css, or php page. Let me know where to change the button color.
