Disable enqueuing of Open Sans and other fonts used by WordPress from Google.
It is tested in wordpress 4.1.1. It works. But it would be better to solve the issue by wordpress designers. I mean they should remove those links from wordpress or keep them as default deactivated.
Thanks to the developer of this plugin.
Works like a charm.
This is an excellent little plugin. It does exactly what it says it does, with no fuss and no messing around.
This plugin is good however, I noticed if I try to load my wordpress site in Chrome (with China VPN switched on), its still slow compared to FF and Safari. Also, I still see its loading data from font.googleapis.com
Any idea why?
Being located in China, but using a host in the U.S. - getting the Google Fonts out of my pages brought an average 30 second load time down to about a 10 second load time (which is acceptable here). Could have deleted all this manually, but why bother - the plugin works with no problems.
I loved this plugin. I was having this problem initially due to the fact that the W3 Total Cache was not flushed (Make sure you do that if you have similar caching plugins) and I was getting those 8 external Lato font requests consistently from Google. Now it's working like a charm. Thanks for the hark work. My page speed has been increased :)
Great little plugin that speeds up upload time significantly in countries like China where google services are partly blocked and thoroughly screened. Previously each page upload would get paused on google translator (10s) and 'loading fonts.googleapis.com' (10s). Now each page loads in 1-3s!
Does as expected. Improves speed of dashboard and load time.
At the beginning, I couldn't believe WordPress was using third party resources. Then, I found the issues where WordPress developers were discussing about bundling versus hotlinking Google fonts and, from there, I knew about this plugin.
It works as it says: you only need to activate it! Plus, it doesn't change your database, so you can try it with no worries.
I don't want that visitors of my website get logged by Google without their explicit will. This plug-in does what it promises to help in this matter.
