Nice update, love the clean white background.Only suggestion I would make is with such a great plugin please consider doing a demo video with sound.
It can be a bit confusing watching a demo and not knowing why you're doing one thing as opposed to another. It also just makes it easier to follow especially when you're going from one section to another skipping over one option but not telling us why you're doing what you're doing.
A lot of times what may seem simple to you as the developer may not be as obvious to a user.

We have used this plugin to streamline our client approval process. This is the only plugin we have seen that lets you organize designs by client into project "buckets" AND give you the option of using revision markers. This is all great stuff if you are looking to minimize design process headaches.
The developer was quick to reply to us (we had a paid version :) ) to answer any of our questions about the plugin and how it functioned.
I have installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, switched themes, switched browsers (Chrome, Safari, IE, Firefox), created Designers, created Clients all with the same result:
Version#, Versions, Hide Notes and Approve do not work and am a total loss.
Overall, the plugin has potential, unfortunately all the tutorial links appear to be dated and not completely relevant to the version that was installed on my site. Neither was I able to submit a support ticket due to restrictions on their support website.
Finally, some of the plugin features seem redundant. I hope they get some of the loose ends together and make it a clean plugin.
This is a great little plugin. DAS is a really specialized piece of code so it might not be right for everyone but if you work with clients this could be the thing for you. On its own, it doesn't do very much and didn't have quite the functionality that I needed but with the premium add ons for it, It becomes so much more. The price is high but it really makes this a much better product.
I needed a way to show my work to clients at different stages of development. I can't really use email any more because my inbox just blows up after a while, and email systems like ZenDesk don't work because clients can't seem to follow up in a single thread. I needed to somehow post work on my website and only let logged in clients view it.
For all the searching I did, I couldn't find any piece of software or web app that does this. Thats where DAS came in. I'm still working out a few things but I think this system will really help my business once I get it fully operating with my clients.
There are a few problems. Its a bit complicated to start out. Users can only leave one comment per design. There is a LOT of repetitive clicking. The project board can look messy after about 4 revisions.
I would like to see something like a more standard comment system in place, simplification of the posting system, and smaller icons for previous versions on the project board. I would also like to see automatic "proof" watermarks and Paypal invoicing built in.
That being said, there is a lot of potential here. Its really the ONLY system that does this kind of thing. They are actively developing their plugins and working out bugs, and they have a good support team that will work with you if you have any problems. Its definitely worth checking out.
I downloaded this plugin probably about a year ago. I was impressed. It did a lot of things that I would find useful and was looking forward to using it with my clients. However, since downloading it, my experience has not been great.
First of all, it's heavy. Over 7MB to add to your webspace. Not terrible, but it's mostly made up of PNGs for the walkthrough. The walkthrough now uses text but the images are still included in the download...
Speaking of the walkthrough, it seems that randomly every now and then it will ask me if I want to complete said walkthrough. How many times do I need to say no?
The project board is only on the back-end, with no front-end option. If you want your clients to view the Project Board, they must have a login and access to the back-end. A front-end version would be much better, allowing them to login is fine but clients shouldn't be on the back-end, because the back-end typically isn't branded like the front-end.
It is not compatible for mobile. Both on the front end or back end. Want your clients to view the Project Board? Better hope they don't check it on their mobile phones - looks horrible and they'll need to pinch and zoom. The front-end looks just as bad out of the box on the mobile. You can't expect clients to be impressed with a design when the UI is a bad experience to begin with.
I managed to edit the plugin files to clean up the front-end design post, to make it responsive and allow it to match my branding, however once the plugin is updated, obviously my changes are overwritten and need to do it all over again.
I understand since 3.8.1 we can add in our own template folder in our themes. There isn't anything documented on how to do this outside of "adding a das folder". I copied the template files from the latest release into this folder, however even these default files didn't work.
The plugin itself is a great idea, the execution however isn't great. While I understand the choice to have some extensions that are at a premium cost, there are some features that I believe should have been built into this plugin without purchase. A drop down box that can choose your client automatically for example.
Looking through the source files, this plugin needs to be cleaned up a lot to be in line with some other plugins. I will keep an eye on it, but I'll be building out my own design approval system for now.
Just scratching the surface, but looks great so far!
I'm an author with PDMI Publishing, and I think this'll be a great way for us to be able to approve the proofs of new books. The design is fantastic, and it's easy to use as well.
I'm an author with PDMI, and I've been helping use this plugin from the other side of the monitor. It makes reviewing and communicating with my designer(s) SO much easier. It shows everything, including where the spine will be and so on. Makes it very easy for even the non-image-literate types to know what's happening and where.
