This Plugin is basically for changing the database default prefix(wp_) to other one.
I really, really wanted to like this plugin.
To be fair to the author, it does do what it promises to do. BUT...
Unfortunately, is is very clear that the author has made no effort to properly debug the plugin, or follow WordPress coding standards.
See my support thread for details on the code errors, along with code fixes for each of them.
We run WP_DEBUG on all our test sites 24/7. We have to because need to run our code, and our plugin code through rigorous tests and all kinds of situations.
As soon as we fired this up, it started popping off errors. All of these would have been easily catchable if the author had even turned on WP_DEBUG.
I posted a support request with no response from the plugin author. In the support forums, she doesn't seem to have been active in at least several weeks, which isn't a good sign.
Unfortunately all the people giving this plugin good ratings don't know about all the errors happening beneath the surface of their site. It's important not to let these unseen errors go unfixed as many of the issues we've seen with plugin conflicts and site issues have to do with this kind of thing.
I can't in good conscience recommend this plugin until the errors are fixed, the quality of coding is improved, and the author starts to do proper debugging before releasing code to the public.
This plugin really has a lot of potential and I truly hope it can be fixed.
Others say it works if you turn off debug mode. The first test of a plugin should be whether the author has checked for simple, catchable errors. I only trust my sites with plugins that are coded according to WordPress standards.
Fix these errors and I will gladly try it again.
Be careful, while it probably works with single site WP installation, it will screw your multisite. Don't update your multisite using this plugin. No negativity intended.
beautifully simple plugin that may work on another version but did nothing for my database on 3.1 even though the plugin said it was successfully changed.
