This is sound and effective plugin. Easy setup and fulfills 100% work. One of best plugin to include in the initial setup of WordPress.

I have listed it one of the must have plugin for better arrangement of upload folder in WordPress Setup.

Works great!

I'm testing a new site (migrate) and this is what I was looking for! Now my uploads directory won't be full of photos (almost 2000)...

Thanks for this plugin!

This plugin gives you such amazing control over your upload directories, and it is so simple to use! I tested a few other custom folder plugins, but this one is by far the best.

nightmare solved
By , for WP 3.5

well, what was my problem?
An huge collection of photos organized in galleries, in a static website.
So i pick all and upload in wp, but you know and i had sadly discovered: for every img loaded wp make 3-4 version in different size downto 150x150px. And all are in the same upload directory. What is 10000 photo uploaded in an ONLY, huge, folder? a nightmare, unusable folder. A workaround will be put a publish date BEFORE any img upload, but custom upload dir solve simply a question that will be a standard wp feature.

Tnx.

Works but beware if you already have a lot of images

Good if you are just starting to create a site. Then all images uploaded will be in the folders created etc. BUT if you already have a lrage media library and images all over your site pointing to the source locations, then the moment you change to CUSTOM UPLOAD DIR all the photos disappear from your site and sh ow the placeholders only.. then you ahve to re-load all the photos! I basically had to go and un-install this plugin as I did not want to start all over again, so use it if you just start..
