Provides a drop-down to select different templates for posts from the post edit screen. The templates replace single.php for the specified post.
It took a small bit to get used to, but it DOES WORK, and very well!
Sure, it would be nice, if there were a tutorial. A tutorial is the only thing this is lacking. But once you figure it out, it does exactly what you need!
In short, you need to create a new file called single-newname.php where "newname" is the name of the template. Then you can use that template as desired. I used another plugin called Advanced Custom Fields to work in conjunction with this plugin to create custom fields to use on the custom post templates. Then I program the custom fields into the custom post template (single-newname.php).
So yes, it may not be easy for a WordPress newbie. But if you are a WordPress newbie and don't know how to program, then you should be hiring a developer to do this anyways. Stop hoping for a magical no-coding-needed way to customize your WordPress! You think developers work for free??
Anyhow AWESOME plugin and very easy to use! Thank you!
Perfect ! It has a hook to handle custom post types, since by default it only works with

I'd already implemented Custom Post Types - once I found the note in the "developers" tab everything worked perfectly.
It's very work and easy to use.

Works great - WHY isn't his core?!
For those that don't know how to use it...
1) Copy a page template (in your template dir) - for example page-full.php and rename it something else such as post-full.php
2) open the php file and at the top where is says...
<?php /* Template Name: Full Width Page */ ?>
change it to...
<?php /* Template Name Posts: Full Width Page */ ?>
3) Open a post and where you normally change a layout for a page - you should have the same drop-down.
Worked great! Thanks
