On first launch, CRP conflicted with my theme (the WordPress-designed Writr) and displayed mostly a text page. Followed the forum's suggested fix and that cleared up the issues, thankfully.
Then, CRP kept displaying thumbnails, even with "text only" selected and all caches cleared. Seemed to pull those thumbnails haphazardly, too, more often substituting a generic image when an inline image exists.
Plus, the results were poor compared to my previous related-posts plugin, YARPP. "Poor" as in "not even close." No CRP config mods improved the results.
All the positive reviews and the suggestion that CRP was better optimized than YARPP brought me here. At least I was getting perfect links returned before, even if the performance of YARPP is less than ideal.
Oh well. Will keep looking.
I tried both the automatic and manual installation, and nothing worked. The only thing that would display is the "no posts found" message I had set. If I search my site for words in common, of course a lot of posts show up, so why doesn't this plugin at the very least find those? I've seen in the support forums that other people are having a hard time getting results to display, so after trying a few different changes in the settings, etc., I give up. This plugin doesn't work well at all.
I've updated my rating because of the plugin author's demonstrated commitment. Though I already found another solution, with his support I would likely have solved the problem. Still, I'd rather not have such a big problem when I first install a plugin...
