Better than Woo Canvas's Related Posts - it works
By , for WP 4.1

Needed to find some solution to feature Related Posts at the end of each blog post.

I also needed to be able to exclude custom post types used by my client's Events Calendar plugin. I am using a child Woo Canvas theme, and while I like some of the shortcodes offered by Woo, their related posts included the events in with the Related Posts, which was not accurate, while also included events that had expired, which was definitely the most annoyingly horrible thing.

Anyway, CRP worked right out of the box.

The styling is ok, but that is something I can tweak later on.

It works. It works. It works. And that's what I needed it to do.

Thank you developer dude/dudette!

Simple, no baggage

Most of the other "related posts" plugins now are more concerned with THEIR business model than yours. They burden your site with "related" posts from their advertisers, not the related posts on YOUR site.

This plugin behaves itself, and only looks for YOUR related posts. I found some of the configuration items a little wonky, but was able to find one that looks good and works well on my site.

The related posts it chooses aren't necessarily the ones I would have chosen manually, but they make sense, and overall I think it's a big addition to the user's experience. Mine is a review site, and I'm trying to encourage readers to explore the archives. This does that very well.

nice plugin

Even though I had to apply some simple css to adjust the layout, this plugin does what it says. I like and recommend it.

The only flaw I recognized is that I get displayed multiple authors with widget. This might be caused by "change-author" plugin in combination with WordPress revision. Not sure what's going on, but I can't display the author information like this at the moment.

This plugin could easily be improved by adding option to choose author avatar/gravatar as image with widget and the ability to adjust the language strings. I could hack the code for the avatar, but would like to see it with core. And language strings: right now all strings are glued together.

Still a good and free plugin so I rate it 5 stars

Thanks, but no thanks!

Pros:

Works immediately;
Does not slow down the site;

Cons:

Shows partial html code;
Only works under posts, or in conjunction with a sidebar:
Looks horrible.

Amazing!

I've tried a lot of related post plugins in the past and I've always had issues with them. For a while I tried my hand at using one of the manually chosen related posts plugins, but that was too time-consuming.

This plugin works wonderfully and doesn't slow down the site at all. Plus, it took literally seconds to turn off the default display and add it to my theme where I want it. I think I spent more time writing this review :P

Great work!

Work as I expected

I found this plugin on TidyRepo, thanks to them, save me a bunch time. And thanks to the developer, build such a great work - simple and configurable!

After trying many, this one allows you to set options - for me search only titles and same tags - bam! all done automatically. Nice work.

Very Good

Just installed it and I can easily say it does a much better job than WordPress Related Posts by Zemanta.
I had a problem with Zemanta plugin, it didn't display "featured image" as thumbs, instead tried to find "video thumb" of my posts (custom post type) and when it couldn't it placed random (I believe )useless images. Such a failure for such a basic function!

Anyways, this one does it well. Thanks.

Does the job, and does it well!

This plugin does an excellent job of picking out the most relevant posts to include in the list, and has customization options that let you tune its appearance to match the theme of your site. I've been using it for years and in has worked exceptionally well. In addition, the developer is responsive to bug reports and enhancement requests.
