I don't have a problem getting emails from any of my sites so this "configuration error" garbage is not needed. Add that stuff about "email should be from own domain" to the FAQs and leave the actual plugin alone. I've got several sites and I'm not setting up a separate email for each domain.
I'm just using the contact form that comes with Mr Scott Allen's awesome wp-spamshield now.
Have been using this for 3 months. But it just stopped sending emails. I actually thought that was no one sent.
But when I came to back-end I saw:
1. "This contact form has a configuration error. » How to Resolve Configuration Errors" -
2. "This email address does not belong to the same domain as the site."
Why it used to work before, but later doesn't work without any alert me in advanced?
How many businesses/Clients I have missed due to this? Will this happens again?
Still want to use this plugin but worried missing businesses again.
You've taken it from simple to complex. For what? Not good. It was so simple clients could do it themselves. Now we're having to fix it for them all the time. The interface was way better the other way too.
Syntax errors for every single one of my websites.
The form now requires an email that matches the domain name, which 90% of my websites do not have.
This is incredibly stupid and now every single form has errors that render them useless!
This plugin works, but it's very complicated to configure custom forms and it's not beginner friendly. Also, I think the spam check (CAPTCHA) should be enabled by default.
It works great without any workaround with given tags. But as soon you need some extra, you are running just into coding on different places. For this i get much better plugins, while here is just something every plugin gives anyway for granted.
Tags does not work for me, so if there is a problem with different Themes, this plugin does not a good job.
Anyway wordpress is getting time consuming with updates and updgrades all day, because of third party plugins, not to mention security issues...
excellent concept but does not have the filtering capacity that any basic programmer can built in. We've had to customize our version to protect our clients from spammers. There is no method for filtering by IP, email or bad keywords - and askimet is a $$ joke. So if you install CF7 any spammer can easily send you or your client a solicitation or harassing message and you will be virtually unable to stop them.
The support section has multiple posts about it not working and very few replies. Troubleshooting does seem to work either.
Better to plugin self created the page for contact info, I like to see maps!!!
A long time could not understand the creation of the page contact.
I installed this plugin because it got very high ratings. Boy was I disappointed.
My biggest complaint about this plugin is that once you created a field, there's no way to edit it. You have to create it again and with your minor corrections.
It looks robust at first, but the end user is left with a lot of experimentation to figure it out. And no, the documentation did not help. I found it basically useless.
With all the drag and drop functionality that's out there, this plugin seems a little archaic.
Sorry to be so negative, but I really don't understand why this got such high ratings.
