I just wanted to confirm that it is indeed working on the latest WordPress (as per this date) with no issues and it's pretty straightforward if you follow the instructions.
I've read almost every review here and none of them properly explain how to set up with the newer WordPress updates. The author has in fact updated it to work, and I've included steps below:
1. Download and activate plugin
2. Enter Constant Contact Account login information
3. Assign which fields from the contact form will go to which fields in constant contact
4. Go back to the form editor and add the Constant Contact Form List into the form as if it is a field.
5. Test it and it should work.
I gave it 5 stars because the author is getting a bad rap for a plugin that works. Don't let the 1-star reviews draw you away. Just take the time to learn the plugin and it will work like a charm.
After reading some of these reviews, I was expecting problems. NOPE. I installed the plugin, added my CC info and it worked right away. Pulled up all of my lists and allowed me to integrate with Contact 7. Sent a test and it went right through. Thank you
Thanks so much for the update! After more than a year, all my forms are now on speaking terms with constant contact once again. I did have to rebuild a couple of my forms, and relink a few things, but everything is working perfectly, including my custom fields. Thanks!
I discovered this doesn't work anymore. The forum showed some issues and obviously they aren't solved.
The "Detailed Integration Instructions" packaged with the plugin are horribly out of date. The screenshots appear to be from WordPress 3.0 and don't match up at all with the actual screens you get when configuring the plugin.
You can map which fields you want to send to Constant Contact, but there's no way to select the list you want to add the user to when they submit your form.
Despite all this, I mapped my form fields and submitted a test. I received the submission via email, so the form works, but Constant Contact did not capture any of the data submitted.
About the only thing that did work was entering the credentials for Constant Contact.
This plugin does not work with WP 4.4. The opt in checkbox doesn't show up and when I finally tweaked the code to get it to show up, it sent all information to Constant Contact whether the user had clicked on the 'opt in' checkbox or not. Not good. It also marked all the contacts as 'implied' even if they had opted in (they should be 'express' if they've opted in).
This was extremely fast and easy to use. All you need to do is follow the directions.
As the headline says, does not work with 4+, which was released 9 months ago. Plugin developer is silent on the threads requesting help with this issue on Github:
And this 7 month old thread with has crickets:
Will write new (5 star) review when/if developer decides to respond, as plugin worked great prior to 4.0.
I set it and left it. It's great! Haven't had to bother with it all since.
