I just want to say thank you, thank you and thank you for such a useful plugin.

Works well!
By , for WP 4.1

For the security reasons I only allow authenticated email on my VPS server. This plugin makes it possible for WP to send alerts via SMTP.

Thank you!

WORKs!

Its the only one I have found that works. Nuff said.

Not working in WP 4.01
By , for WP 4.0.1

I just tried to install on WP 4.0.1 and failed at installation first time.

Second time woring flawless.

Error message first time:

Download failed.. Failed to connect to downloads.wordpress.org port 443: Connection refused

But now I have an error in 4.0.1:

Strict Standards: Declaration of c2c_ConfigureSMTP::options_page_description() should be compatible with C2C_Plugin_023::options_page_description($localized_heading_text = '') in /htdocs/www/fodler/wp-content/plugins/configure-smtp/configure-smtp.php on line 47

Still working

Our All-Time Favourite Plugin
By , for WP 3.6.1

When setting up a new WP install, the first thing I do is ALWAYS getting "Configure SMTP" first in order to get e-mail messaging from (all) our blog(s) going. Recently did it for http://betterBlogging.info/ which is my latest proof of this very nice plugin running great!

Scott's plugin works great with any e-mail server tested so far, including self-hosted and Gmail (the latter is even pro-configured "for the asking" -- or the box-checking, to be precise -- to be able and run a quick-and-dirty setup w/o much ado and on someone else's server load; that's what much-hated Google is still good for ;) IMO, even though they log, scan, and analyze what you're directing through their mail servers)!

A multi-year user of Scott Riley's 'Configure SMTP' plugin, I haven't had any trouble whatsoever running it on 120+ installs in many years from WP like-2.1 up to recent 3.6.1 and 4.1.1 installs.

Very good

Great plugin, solved my problems with wp_mail() function, which wasn't working properly due to some unalterable settings in the host provider. Thank you so much.
