Easily control the display of widgets based on pages or categories
Essential extension to manage multiple Widget in the sidebars.
Love the per-page functionality that this plugin allows.
I tried a slew of other plugins that used category shortcodes for static pages, or incomplete solutions that left the category link pulling the default sidebar. None worked with WP built in categories just right, and we wanted a menu link to a category as well.
This did just exactly what we wanted. I created category-specific widgets and had them appear only on the specific category. Was able to hide others from that category as well. Wish I had found it sooner after wasting hours with others.
Simple and straight forward, just like a plugin should be.
No other "conditional" type plugin we've encountered gives us such granular control, and we've tested them all over the years. Not only are support issues few and far between, but when they do exist, they are answered promptly. HIGHLY recommended - and you should go donate to the author too!.
Conditional Widgets is the very best most intuitive and convenient means I have found for placing widgets into sidebars conditionally, and I've explored the possibilities a good bit...
And the support is totally awesome.. The author made it possible to retain the ability to have conditional widgets for CPTs after his recent major update, in a most elegant way, and I totally appreciate that...
Great plugin with great support from the devs. A must have for a site with dynamic sidebars, to enable fine-grained control of where a widget is shown or hidden.
Would be great if was compatible with WPML multilingual CMS.
Untill that I'll keep using Widget Logic, less user friendly but working in every situation.
WP 3.6 RC - Absolutely beautiful - works great. Absolute authoritative widget-logic control, this is how you do widgets. As jchu says, look no further.
This widget is the most straightforward plugin to install if you want to be able to specify specific posts or pages you want to show or hide. It also gives options to hide on home page, 404 error pages etc. LOOK NO FURTHER! IF you're constantly looking up widget logic commands, this is it! In a simple drop down multi-select menu, you can select multiple posts/pages/categories. No more fumbling with annoying quotations, underscores, parenthesis...etc.
Came across this plugin after spending considerable time playing with widget logic, and installed it right away. Intuitive, straightforward, simple. Use your time developing beautiful webpages, not trying to communicate which widget should show up where.
Thank you, developers!
