Add some useful fields to registration and user's info
after upgrading to version 4.2 of WordPress the plugin no longer works.. when a new user registers for your site.. they will see that the registration was successful but they will never receive any account info.
Also as a Site administrator you will not know that anyone has even tried to register..
so my suggestion to you is if you have this currently installed and you rely on it to get new business and you have updated to wordpress 4.2 you better uninstall or you will get no more users.
Just tried this for 2 or 3 hours. I'm afraid that it seems to have a number of obvious problems:
(1) I can't find any way to make new fields mandatory
(2) The mandatory tick-box feature doesn't work, despite what it says on the FAQ, and being on php 5.3.3
(3) Lot of confusion with password fields - you can get multiple fields
(4) The sign-up message is wrong - it says you'll get another email, but you don't
Like one of the other reviewers said - write it yourself, or try Register Plus Redux or Pie Register - that's where I'm going now...
what a plugin Boss!
i never see before with too much facilities.
keep it up.you solve my problem by making this.
thank you again.
one of the best WordPress plugins
Trying to get staff to register using their full names was near on impossible. This is the perfect solution.
I manage several multisites, along with quite a few others on a few networks. I had high hopes for this plugin. After installing it and attempting to configure it, it failed to do what was promised, wasting a bit of time and frustration.
After I attempted to get this plugin working, I searched for answers and came across a few replies from the author in response to a few very polite inquires. The author was a rude, well, I'm too polite to use that sort of languages here, but it suffices to say that I would not waste my time trying to contact him for support and will not waste any more time trying to figure out this ill-conceived plugin. Poorly written and evidently poorly supported.
Steer clear of this one. A time waster.
Perhaps, in the future, can force Public Display Name to use First Name & Last Name or Nick Name
Although the interface seems a little clunky at first, this plugin makes adding extra user fields really easy once you get the hang of it. It allows you to customize the fields on your WordPress user registration form and also offers some nice value added features like reCAPTCHA, email verification links and basic editing of the generic WordPress welcome e-mail. The plugin also makes some functions available for easily querying your custom user fields on your website.
Although there are few limitations. It works like charm and hats off to developers for giving such a awesome plugin.
A small request., Can you make regular expression validation to accpet only numbers?
I want to manually approve my user signups to prevent spam. But the way it was, with just the email, I really had no way to tell who was signing up in order to approve them. With the ability to add first name and last name or anything else, I think it is a bit more of a deterrent for spammers and also I can get a feeling of who is signing up.
