Created a child theme in seconds, and let me preview it first to make sure it was all working.
Only thing it doesn't do is create a thumbnail, which is a bit disconcerting at first. Once I'd figured out where the thumbnail should sit and what it should be called (/wp-content/themes/*THEMENAME*/screenshot.png) it was a simple job to create one and upload it.
This is a great plugin for beginners.
Simple, fast and works. All we need.
The idea is great and the plugin is super easy to use.
As a beginner to WordPress, I appreciated how painless this was. Thank you.
Simple and effective. Bravo!
A nice touch would be to be able to add optional info, like description, author, url, etc. - but it still gets 5 stars!
...and perfect! :-)
1. Click, Create a child theme under the theme you want a child theme for in Appearance > Themes
2. Give your new child theme a name
3. Click, Let's Go!
A folder is added to the WordPress themes folder with a css file in it containing the necessary wording for a child theme, and your new child theme is now included in the Appearance > Themes section.
Thank you, John P. Bloch!
Do we really NEED to have a plugin? Not really but it is so much easier to not have to go to cPanel or FTP to create a child theme. Great job and thanks for reminding me that I needed this plugin...
Absolutely brilliant plugin. Hands down THE BEST "child theme creation" plugin out there. Trust me. Install, and click create-child-theme.
It's that easy. Then, knock yourself out customizing your child theme's details and style :)
